I have three ideas in my head right now, but I'm not sure which to focus on first, or which ones I want to create as a game or write as a novel. o.o
Might as well get unbiased opinions. :p
Let's begin:
MERCENARY MAIDEN
Genre: High fantasy, romance, magic, adult
Setting: In the world of Aestora there exists a separate plane full of magic; the type that takes your mind while you sleep. This realm is known as Ellor Yma.
Premise: Seventeen year-old Sylphia Faine runs away from her Alvarri homeland to avoid an arranged marriage the only way she knows how; signing an unbreakable contract with a mercenary group. There she meets the Guildmaster's only son, Zahki, who intrigues her simply because he doesn't treat Sylphia like a lady, and she's happy with that.
Soon a job is posted involving the presence of magic--something that's not a normal occurance in Aestora. Sylphia and Zahki get caught up in the mess, meeting two warriors in the process. One of them being the man she was to marry.
Notes:
* You may remember this as game I have tried to make before...
* It has been attempted as a novel three times so far, and not one of those drafts are finished

THE HEARTKEEPER
Genre: Magical girl, demons, apocalyptic, soft sci-fi
Setting: Earth, in the city of Winston on the east coast. A hellish dimension exists and its creatures have been known to be horrifying...
Premise: While leaving a party on a late Friday night, teenager Charlotte Paige is suddenly thrown into another dimension, into the domain of death-like monster. While it attempts to abuse her, another creature appears and gives Charlotte the power she needs to escape... and kill it.
After returning home, life seems to proceed as normal, despite her feeling of emptiness. At first it's subtle as the demons from the hellish world appear and she disposes them with her new powers, but soon it gets out of hand, and they began to take over.
Along with Felix, her high school crush, and only friend, they try to find a way to end it all.
Notes:
* This story is actually based on several dreams I have that were able to form a coherent story after editing
* The setting DOES NOT have to be earth, as long as it is seemingly modernlike
______________________________
VEIL OF COURAGE
Genre: High fantasy, adventure, friendship
Setting: An unnamed world, possibly with some basic technology like flintlock pistols and trains.
Premise: Best friends Elani and Derryn have been mocked and critized too many times by others. Elani, while intelligent, is socially awkward and seems to have difficulty connecting to others. Derryn, coming from a middle-classed home, failed in becoming a knight due to his cowardice. His heart is in the right place, though.
When young children start to disappear, and its cause leading to a beast called a lamia, Elani and Derryn get the sudden idea to kill it. Doing this should get them the respect they know they deserve.
It won't be an easy task, however.
Notes:
* I already have a group of six main characters in mind, but that's about it, and the top left and bottom left are Derryn and Elani, respectively
If one of these ideas resonates with you, feel free to comment and say why. If you have an idea for which medium they would be best in, please do share. :p
Thanks so much!
I Can't Decide :(

I voted for The Heartkeeper.
Personally (and I realize and admit, it's my personal opinion, so please take it at that), I get a little burnt out stories/games with a bunch of made up names. I know that sounds stupid, but it's a real turn off for me. So that was my biggest issue with the first.
I think also though, lately I just prefer stories that are set on earth. Or at least based on earth. By that, think Doctor Who, based on earth and average people, but they get to see and do amazing things.
Also, I feel like the second one reminds of stories like Buffy the Vampire Slayer or the Sookie Stackhouse books (which TrueBlood is based off of). Supernatural things happening in a normal every day setting. And I like that kind of stuff. -
Agreed, I have to go with Heartkeeper as well.
-
I go for the mercenary maiden! :thumbsup-left:

I also voted for The Heartkeeper, because I like the idea of supernatural things happen on earth / earthbased planets.
Even I wasn't 100% sure about what I should vote, because Mercenary Maiden sounds pretty interresting too. (\s/) -
It looks like The Heartkeeper is the winner (after letting this sit for a couple of days).
Part of me wants to write it as a book, but the other part just wants to make a game. o.o -
I voted Heartkeeper. Second choice would've been Veil of Courage, and last Mercenary Maiden.
I think Heartkeeper has a very good concept there and there's a lot you can do with it. It seems you have the plot, the setting, and the characters established well already. It will also work really well as a game.
Veil of Courage sounds to me will work well as a light-hearted, possibly even humourous story.
Mercenary Maiden probably can end up as a good story too, but I couldn't see much of a plot yet from the synopsis. The main character seems established and the setting, but not much about the main conflict. -
What you mentioned about Mercenary Maiden is probably the main reason I'm having a difficult time writing it as a book. I think Veil of Courage would be easier to make than Heartkeeper. Since Heartkeeper would need sci-fi AND modern graphics, and I don't have those (or the money for them). XDI voted Heartkeeper. Second choice would've been Veil of Courage, and last Mercenary Maiden.

The Heartkeeper. You had me at magical girl genre.

I voted for the Heartkeeper, it has an interesting concept and so much potential.
I think you can do so much more with it than with the other two…
(but I like darker concepts, so that may be just me…)
