I recently bought a 30th Anniversary, Year Of The Horse edition of Optimus Prime: http://www.seibertron.com/transformers-toys/view/platinum-edition/year-of-the-horse-optimus-prime/3181/2/223/ as a little investment scheme: I put it in storage then bring it out for sale years later.
Now, I bought it at the store and had it put in a big bag, because it's a big box. And since all the floors in the shopping centre were so smooth, I foolishly assumed the plastic bag wouldn't wear down, so I just let it drag. When I finally got it home, I discovered the damage on the bag and =GASP!= the wear on the box corners. Otherwise, it's fine. And the contents are still inside.
However, will that wear on the box bring the eventual price down?
I bought a TF collector figure, but the box is damaged. Will that bring the price down in the future

Yes, since collectors prefer the complete item in perfect condition (unopened, not scratch or anything like that on the box/figure).
