  1. So, I have serials for RPG maker XP, and RPG maker Ace VC (I think)

And with the ace one I got all the DLC that came with it too, the problem is, I...don't really use steam. I kinda hate it, and please don't give me any crap about that either.

But, I noticed one thing. When I downloaded the trial versions for the two RPG maker versions I have, and used the serials I got off of humble bundle it said that they were invalid.

So....what gives? Can I not use the software I paid for now?
  2. I am a bit confused by what you have written.
By "serials" do you mean Registration Keys?

I could be wrong, and if so someone will correct me, but that Humble Bundle only gave out Steam keys, which would have been made clear in the ordering process. It always flags up if it is a Steam key or not.
If the registration key was for Steam, then it cannot be used in the standalone version.

What you could do is to install the Steam version to your HD, and then always run it off line. You don't have to be logged in to Steam to use it.

hmm. I'll have to crack it then to get around steam.
  4. Crack it?

ya know...edit the files so that I can run RPG maker without having steam installed on my computer period.
  6. Yeah, that's not actually legal.

so....I can't get rid of spam ware for something I legally bought and own? Seriously, steam is stupid af. I had my account hacked one time, and steam told me "tough luck" that they couldn't do anything about it....but after I go talk to my back about filing a charge back since I'd made a purchase on steam within the last 30 days a rep gets a hold of me and says they can give me my account back, but if I do anything with my bank like a charge back again I'll loose my steam.

Guess I won't be using RPG maker at all then.
  8. If you bought it through Humble Bundle, they always show what platforms you're getting it through. If you bought it through Steam, I'm not entirely sure why you would be expecting it to be available through anything else.

As has been pointed out, you can use Steam in offline mode, but to go non-steam, you need to use the store on the website here.
  9. The thing is, humble bundle is supposed to tell you that you are buying Steam keys on the page. If you have an issue with the fact they sold you a steam key when you wanted a stand-alone, you really should discuss it with them, as we cannot do anything about it.
  10. You see, most stuff on humble bundle is sold as steam keys, they also tell you if you're getting steam keys or stand alone versions. So please do everyone a favor and read carefully next time before you buy things in Humble Bundle. :)
