HUGE Sprite Request

Hello. I'm working on a on-map boss fight system and I need a sprite for one particular spriteset.
The boss is a HUGE dragon which hovers around and player just attacks him in his teeth.
I need a good spriteset for him(about 60 X 30).

Do you mean 60 x 30 pixels? If so, perhaps you're not aware of MV resource sizes. A typical sprite is 48 x48 pixels, so by comparison, 60 x 30 would not be huge.


If you mean something else, please clarify.

I mean 60 X 30 SQUARES, not pixels. Player is 1 X 1. Huge enough?:)

A 2880 x 1440 Pixel big sprite!?! That's huge! It's like 20 x 10 face graphics all in one sprite!!


I have no idea how much work that'd be but for most resolutions, it wouldn't even entirely fit on the screen at default zoom!!


My laptop's screen for example, is 1366 x 768, which is under HALF the size of what you are requesting! Are you sure that's the right size!?!

I asked for clarification because artists here are used to working in pixel sizes, not number of squares.


As Kloe pointed out, this is huge. Probably too huge. Most computers will not be able to display it. Also, you ask for a spriteset. So that really means that complete set will be 3 times as wide and 4 times as tall, an insanely massive document that WILL add a lot of data to your game size.


I'd suggest asking for a smaller picture, maybe just of the mouth that can be overlaid. You can use effects to move the picture around if you want as you battle it. Just an idea, as I don't think your request is likely to get made as you are asking for it.

Oh my god, I did not mean 3 X 4 spriteset. I'm so sorry! I meant only one picture: when he is facing camera and has wide open wings.


My request might be lunatic, but I'm not THAT insane!

Even for one picture, are you aware of how big a 60x30 blocks image is on a map? 


My 1366x768 display can't even see the whole of a 40x40 blocks map.


I suggest you rethink about this request.. I seriously doubt anyone would take such request seriously. At least I don't. Mostly because it doesn't seem like have any grasp on plausible size.

Well, you're probably right. Anyway, I guess I only need his head and something around it. That shouldn't be THAT big.


In any case, that should be about 20 X 20(still huge, but I really need it). That being said, I'll probably gonna need a skeletal version of it too.


If anyone can help me with it, I'll be thankful.
