How to play rpg maker games on a mac ?

Hello there everyone not sure if this the right section or not but how to play rpg maker games on a mac

its macos high sierra version 10.13.6

two different answers depending on which RPG Maker:

If it is RPG Maker MV, then have the game developer make a deployment to MacOS and use that app to play it on Mac.

Any other, older RPG-Maker: install a windows emulator (bootcamp for example or a virtual machine).
Some game developers offer their games included with a windows-wrapper, but those are usually only commercial games as that is a lot more work and problematic in its own.

I've heard that Wineskin works to play these games on a Mac, but I've never tried it myself.

its sad really that rpg is not yet on mac after all these years

i know you can install and use the newest rpg maker forgot what it called since it dose support mac but not sure now if i own rpg maker as a program can i play the games through it ?

RMMV has changed the internal programming language and display libraries exactly to allow multi-platform deployment, and the games it creates are HTML5-based, so you can play them without owning the editor.

All earlier RPG-Makers use a closed source windows dll as a display engine, that is the reason why they don't work without windows. But even then you never needed to own the editor to play the games, they were provided with their own exe.

And due to the language change, MV can only play MV games, not the older windows-only games.
