I seem to be having much trouble playing a movie intro that I created for my game. I created the video and converted it to a .OGG at 1080p and made an event where the movie plays upon touching the tile. When I touch the tile, it plays the sound but not the video. When I switched to 320p, the movie crashes the game. At 560p (Or something like that), the movie and sound play, but the video cuts itself off at the end. Anyone know how to properly play a movie?

I'd like to know this too before trying to implement cutscenes such as this

That's not a problem with RPG Maker, I had the same problem and it was caused by the Video converter. The converter you are using might have a bad OGG API causing it to damage or break the videos.
Edit:
This person tells how they convert Videos and they work for them
HERE -
I followed what that person said but got stuck at "convert the file to .ovg with VLC". VLC is a media player, not converter, so I can't convert it using that. Any suggestions for alternate converters?

there is a VLC converter. Maybe if you took 5 second to Google it you'd find it.

Though you're completely right no need to be an ass about it.there is a VLC converter. Maybe if you took 5 second to Google it you'd find it.

Sorry didn't mean to, just meant that Google is your friend.

Well then can I have a link? I spent quite a few minutes on google and just found the media player. Maybe I'm bad at googling...Sorry didn't mean to, just meant that Google is your friend.

VLC Media Player has a built in converter.
Edit: Confirmed: it works, I have a test move in a project right now, Also windows movie maker can be used as a free alternative to AVS for making AVIs smaller -
Ok, I converted to .OGG and made a simple event to play the movie. It now plays the sound and not the video, and skips random parts. Am I doing the event wrong?
-
you might have converted it Audio only. there IS an audio only option.
Use the Video option for Theora + Vorbis.
Depending on your Bit rate and Resolution beforehand you might have a Crisp movie or a Fuzzy one or anything in between -
I just tried again and am completely sure I clicked the Theora + Vorbis. Still does the same thing
HOWEVER, if I wasn't an idiot, I would've realized that I put the file into BGS, not movies ^^ So now that it's in movie everything is working perfectly (except the transition is bad since it autoruns immediately when you begin the game. Can I fix that?)
Thanks for the help! -
It's okay, you continued to help the guy and that's what maters. Good jobSorry didn't mean to, just meant that Google is your friend.
