how to do the Harvest Moon 01 easter egg hunt?

In the very first Harvest Moon there is an easter egg hunt in one of the spring festivals. (or in the spring festival. I don't really remember all that much).

I loved that egg hunt because then you could actually do something in the town during a festival.

In the egg hunt the mayor would be showing an egg with a certain colour and then you had to go around town real quick and find the chest with the egg with the same colour.

If someone can explain how to do this (and I think I can wrap my head around it) I want to see if someone can help me create those egg chests. (not necessarily with eggs, but with something that wouldn't go in the inventory and the player would have to carry it to something and place it there.)
