How do you remove a NPC?

Hi everyone this is my first post on this website and I want to ask a question. I have a sidequest set up and ready to go and for story line purposes I would like to remove or permently make the NPC dissapear. I've tried with transpareant option, but it works until you leave the room. Thanks in advance for the Help! :)

Yay for self switches saving the day again ^_^ Keep them in mind whenever you want to change an event (like have a chest not respawn or to have someone remember you already completed their quest).
