How do you make an NPC disappear after a certain event?

I know that there are already threads about this, but none of them helped. They just confused me further.

I wanted to know (as the title emplies) how to make an NPC disappear. If any of you are familiar with the game "Ib", you probably know what I'm talking about. That moment after Ib's encounter with the picture and when she goes back into the halls and nobody's around? That's what i'm talking about. :| .....i sound really stupid.

Make a switch for that event.Then on the second tab make the conditions that switch.the Event has No graphic.Then it disappears ! I know I confused the crap out of you,here,I took some screenies :

I like to save control switches, to turn off multiple events. It's much more efficient to use a self switch for a single.

Control Switches on Multiple Events

 You switch on Disappear and check it on every single event. One does it, they all disappear.

Self Switches on One Event

For single events I suggest using the control self switch. As SELF effects one not many... and it can be used for multiple events and only effect itself not the others.
The event will look like this

In the upper right corner of the events box there should be a check for self switch. It does not matter if it is set to A,B, C or D it will only effect this event.

Please read through some basic tutorials. You need a switch for this, and that is one of the most basic elements you need to understand to make a game with this engine. If you're struggling with this, you're probably going to struggle with a lot of things, so beginner tutorials could be very useful for you :)
