  1. Hello everyone! I'm...completely new to this, and as much as it pains me to admit, have no idea what's going on.

As the main character's design in my game is rather unique, I thought the character generator wouldn't really represent her well enough. So, and I've seen others doing this before, I made my own sprite for her.

I know it's not the best. But I'd like to use it in my game. However, whenever I try to...It turns out like this:

Please help. Is there some kind of special format I need to put it in?
  2. put a "$" symbol at the start of your file name... it tells the system that it's a single character sprite sheet instead of having the standard 8 characters per sheet.
  3. 4x4 is the sprite sheet for RMXP, but your profile says you're using RMVX, which has a 3x4 sprite sheet.

If you're trying to convert an XP-sprite to VX, then just erase the first column.

Also, there is a difference between single-sprite-sheets and the default sheets (which contain 4x2 spritesets), that is usually marked by the filename.
  4. Also, you've got it set up for XP. If you're using VX or Ace you've got too many frames.

Edit: Sniped by Andar. :) Oh well.
  5. Aw, man, thank you everyone! :) I think it's working now.
