Update on 6th of October 2019: I have updated this resource again to now include over 120 files!
Here is my most recent Horror album:
[embedded media]
ARC I - my most recent release, and I think my best work, is an album of 8 atmospheric tracks with influences of industrial, ambient and synthwave music, but always pushed to be as creepy and weird as possible.
Hello RPG Makers!
Full disclosure! This is my first ever post here, so if I've made any mistakes in posting this please do let me know! I found this forum through a search for "RPG Maker Resources" looking for a place to share this, however I actually have a long history of using RPG Maker myself (primarily XP around 10 years ago), in fact it was my time using RMXP that inspired my initial desire to create my own music, and a lot of this audio was created with RPG Maker specifically in mind. I am a massive fan of anything creepy or horror related, and I've played some pretty great indie horror games made in RPG Maker so I know this can be done!
DOWNLOAD LINK contains all 101 files (everything except my most recent two albums)

ARC I and HAUNTED GENESIS can be downloaded, completely free, from my bandcamp at: https://scottarc.bandcamp.com/
Completely free to use for any kind of project, commercial or non-commercial, provided I'm credited as Scott ARC
EDIT: my wording here caused some confusion, just to clarify, this audio is all original work and by "inspired" by I mean stylistically and atmospherically.
EDIT 2: As stated at the very top, this now contains 101 resources and the full zip of all resources can be found just above this paragraph.
EDIT 3: This post had become a little messy so I've removed some links below this to clean it up a bit, everything is still easily viewable by checking this playlist link: HORROR SOUNDS PLAYLIST ON YOUTUBE
Horror Music:
41 tracks, inspired primarily by Silent Hill but also by many other franchises. Styles covered here include dark ominous music, ambient synth based relaxing but slightly creepy, ranging to out right brutal horror soundscapes.

I genuinely hope this helps someone out there, especially as we are coming up to Halloween it may be a nice finishing touch for some projects? Any requests, questions, comments or feedback on what to improve is welcome and encouraged!

Sorry, but how"inspired" is your work? I don't mean to offend but I kinda had some feels of having seen movies and games on some tracks and Creep at 1:01:13+ on the horror theme sounds like the OFFICIAL Westworld Soundtrack - Main Title Theme from Ramin Djawadias part heard here;
and if used and others are also kinda a copy/paste of melody lines, some makers risks getting in troubles for using those. (Young Indie Game makers getting sued looks not cool somehow on my side.) -

Hi buddy, okay, by "inspired" I mean stylistically, there isn't a single microsecond of sampling used here, not a single melody is "copy pasted".
This music was all created from scratch by me, note by note, I'd never even heard that sound track you've posted and it doesn't sound anything like what I posted other than maybe some of the instrument tones and rhythm, musically it's completely different.
There is absolutely zero chance of anyone getting sued for using this.
I'm honestly 50/50 on how to take this. On the one hand the suggestion that I plagiarised here or ripped anything off because I said it was "inspired" by other movies and games is frankly a little upsetting, on the other hand if you genuinely mistook it for being THAT close to movies and games you've heard before I guess that's somehow a compliment to the music itself...
But yeah, to reiterate, every single melody whatever I created here was created from scratch, and the "inspiration" came from the tone of the music, instruments used etc.
Don't know what else to say buddy, found that comment a little disheartening to be honest, hope that clears things up.
Edit: I hope my response doesn't come across as snappy or whatever, I just felt a little upset by the suggestion that my music was ripping anything off etc because I do strive to make stuff that's unique or different to what you usually hear...
Thinking about it, the fact you made it all the way through the content means a lot to me and I do really appreciate that.
Just one last thing, I'll copy and paste the description from youtube which has some more info about that specific work:
Musically inspired specifically by the amazing music of Akira Yamaoka... A style that is impossible to imitate, and would be an insult to try! but it's the spirit of Yamaoka's music and the atmosphere that I have to capture here more than anything!
I'm a massive fan of all horror and creepy things, and this is a compilation of "creepy" music that I've made over the course of learning to make music... anything else I produce going forward is likely to be a lot better, but theres still a lot I love about this music I've created and maybe someone out there will get a kick out of it! -
Hey, it wasn't meant to be a personal. Didn't meant for it to come across badly. I do usually visualize music, but for some reasons without playing the games you mentioned they sounded familiar. So that gallop thing is all the way hidden in that TV intro until it reach the point where I underlined it.
I wanted to make sure because it is possible to loop tunes -in game- and even if last notes diverges... errr.... well... I am no lawyer, but we are not in the millions here vs big production crews. But it is something common now in music that without ever listened to something to fall straight on it. (I wonder if sometimes it has to do upon how we often are forced to hear things from elsewhere without paying attention because they do not interest us, but hey, it is like trying to brainwash folks with pop music we are not even interested into but accidentally heard from a tier person listening the radio or humming the tune heard everywhere now.) -
Okay, I've done as close a comparison of those 2 tracks as I can, and I do not think that Scott-Arc's track is a rip of the Westworld theme.
To anyone reading this thread, I believe that it is safe to use that track. -
Thanks @Kes ! ^^
It's kinda a relief; I love them! -
Thanks a lot guys, I understand you can never be too careful with that stuff!
If anyone else has any other concerns or questions don't hesitate to ask! -

Actually it end up @Marquise* honoring your work.
I wish one day I would get accused of potentially plagiarizing AAA+ music of a successful series. :p
As a fellow musician, I can tell that the music is significant different in my opinion, so I don't find this post dangerous either. :)
P.S.
There are actual rip offs in music, that are completely legal, so let's not be too paranoid.
For instance take a look at the greek pop music industry, which I don't listen by the way...
04:50 and on there are a lot of almost rip offs. There are rules, like you can use a specific amount of exact notes in sequence and it isnt considered a rip off. This abused rule though, made people who know a lot about music cringe, while teenagers enjoyed a musical zombie apocalypse.
No legal actions were taken, or maybe the composers bought rights to use music I don't know, but in the end, using music from someone else, instead of create something genuine, you will eventually get exposed sooner or later. -
I don't understand... Did I pin pointed wrong time codes? I mean yeah you can change hue, instruments, beat but a succession of same notes still is a succession of same notes. o_O
Really sounded the same as like that battle charge!
Also more convincingly;
-
The power of 4/4 I suppose...

Hello again everyone!
I have made an update to the top post bringing the total of files to 101, and including more full music pieces and more sound effects including doors, locks, chimes etc all inspired by silent hill and other survival horror games :)
You can find a playlist of all of these resources at https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLoQM35u0mGbN4NtEKNLzBg0TPK9OYS0AK
I've had a lot of fun making this stuff and really hope someone can make some use of it.
I will probably not have any more content for this thread for a while now, so I have created a single zip file with all of the resources at https://1drv.ms/u/s!AtxCDoMGd8TagXo5JCF_DgN6l05m
Thanks again for anyones time! Again hope someone can make use of this :) -
Man, something that always break me when it comes to creating games is music specifically! Your work is wonderful and surely will help every horror enthusiast out there. Thanks :D
-
I love this! Good job on those and thanks for sharing!
-
You are due for your first DLC!
-
Those monster roars/noises you made are most welcome! I work with Ace, and the stock monster roars there are unfortunately about as threatening as a toddler jumping out and shouting "boo".
Thanks for sharing! -
Hi everyone! I've updated the top post with a brand new album of horror music, which I think is my best work so far. Hope it's useful to someone!
