    About Holders Animated Battlers
Holders Animated Battlers is a project which I started early 2011 time ago to give everyone who's developing an RPG a chance to have a consistent and solid collection of animated battlers.
Since then I've improved in what I can do and what I'd like to see this project be. It's now in it's third and final version and I've combined all my knowledge to start as a means to go on.
First goal I've set it to have a basic set of enemies and a full set of bases containing 15 classes! Each will have two different weapons available giving some nice alternative classes which will double the total class range to 30.
    How they work
Actors and Enemies will follow the same style and format so they can even be used as either depending on your preference. I've created this to be as flexible as possible. Also with that the format style is not to that of any default RPG Maker engine, reason for this is that the engine keeps changing what's default. So outside scripts and plug-ins are always required to use these.
I've started creating guides and help to use these in whatever engine you're using. If you'd like to submit your own guide (Video or Text) I'm open to submissions.
    Thank you and enjoy.

    Examples
The best way to show your weapons in battle! Have them seen all the time during the fight and simply equip different weapons to see the difference in battle! Once set up adding new weapons is easy and so effective on your players.

  2. Darn it! I have reached my quota of positive votes!

Anyway, good to see you post it here, Holder. ;)
  3. Cheers for the attempted like Nelneo, how could I not post them here aswel. I still have Pixel Peek going at VXAce (and my topic) and that'll be where my primary updates and discussions would be, it's set so anyone can view and reply to check out what's going on and have their say in what's coming next.
  4. I feel like I haven't told you how much I dig your work yet. BI

    WELL. Better late than never!

HEY HOLDER I DIG YOUR WORK. These're all super rad; I will probably stare at them and hope to learn from their radness. ;w;d
  5. Wow, now this I like. As Emmych said, I dig your work. I dig it like a wombat.

This has given me a few ideas for my game... *rubs his chin* Hmm....
  6. Thanks very much Emmych and Whiterose, I'm glad it's giving you ideas. I had a couple of different ideas on how people could use these from the usual standard battles but I should wait till I have a fair few more before I propose anything.

Emmych I wish I had the time to do some tutorials on these but at the moment I'm pretty pushed for time otherwise I'd love to.

Hahaha, this is okay! Mostly I meant, like... I was just gonna stare at the sprite sheets and try to absorb knowledge that way. OTL

    Either way, these are still super fantastic. >w<d I really should try to use the monsters, at least. ;__;
  8. Sweet! My crappy script is mentioned here! Do you mind linking to the topic on this forum, though? This is the link here....

I still love that aibatt.... Brings back good v7 memories.... >_>
  9. Certainly Neon Black :) I've updated that link there for you.

I've just updated the main post with the newest additions to the collection, firstly it's those enemies that starting adventures can't do without:

And I loved this design when it was sent to me via PM, it's designer is Chaz Sumlin and I hope to find time to create the other two types at a later date. Plus it gave me a bit of practice creating a larger battler for when I make even larger ones in the future.

    Enjoy =^_^=
  10. Woah I really like Asimole. And man, the sewer rat looks like it should give some nasty disease there...
  11. Sewer rat 1 is clean, but sewer rat 2 has the clap
  12. Very true tpasmall. Cheers Kread Asimole took a load of work to animate, though it can't really be seen from the sheet itself.

I'm not sure if I should ditch the shadows that I've placed on the battlers or not, as there's scripts like Victors animated battlers where the pose/actions control does some really nice effects and movements but the shadows look odd if the enemy is thrown into the air for example:

Also it's been mentioned that it could be useful if I used animated thumbnails instead of the static png images, but I'm not sure on doing this or not- Yeah it'll look good and I've seen others do this before, would it make it a pain when the page's loading though? I dunno, thoughts?

  13. It's possible to add/control shadows via script to avoid this kind of problem. Still, I'm tempted so say keep them: if they're a bother for somebody, they can just remove them - it's easier than add them.

As for animated thumbnails, well, if you use gifs instead of pngs it shouldn't be too heavy for people with slow Internet. Right now I'm on a crappy WiFi connection and I can load this page quite fine (although you only have a few animated thumbnails as of right now).

    You should ask Nessiah >_>
  14. Well, in my opinion, animated thumbnails would allow everyone to see your battlers in action without having to set them up in a system and test each one. Even though people can just look at the sprite set, I have seen your battlers in action and no un-animated picture can do them justice. Your animations are nice and smooth, and I would love to be able to see them moving right here on your thread.

However, that said, I do foresee maybe a few issues with lesser updated computers. I guess that you can just weigh the pros and cons and decide what you would like to do. Really, in the end, it isn't our choice.
  15. Awesome additions Holder! The animated thumbnails are a nice added touch too.

Maybe I should start to do sprites based around your battlers, though I already have the rats ;) . Just a thought.
  16. I've placed a few in there just to give myself and everyone a feel of how they'd look. Cheers for the input, especially if you're able to load it fine via a bad wifi Kread.

Kazzador that'd be cool, I had made a couple of idle frames of some of the monsters but I'm not really accustomed to making those kind of sprites.
  17. holder on the future sprites, remove the shadows if you feel it's necessary. Let the people manually remove the shadow on the first ones ~
  18. this is more looks like a sideview battlers if you put them in opposite direction :3

Ah good plan, that'll save me time having to go back over all the ones I've already done... Actually if I ever have a spriters block it could be my pass time

I may still keep a slight one on flying/hovering creatures just to show they're meant to be off the ground.

By default most, if not all scripts have sheets facing this direction, any sheet not within the party is usually flipped horizontally.

Plus wouldn't you just love to have a little Aibatt in your party ^_^
  20. I have been looking for what battler(s) to finish next, I've had a few concepts and a few requests. After looking at what was there for a while I narrowed my next release down, and here's what I think I'll no next.

There's no particular order as yet but if yous would like one done first then just post away:
