Hii!

Hello everyone! I've been on a huge "trying to make a game" kick the past few days and I figured that maybe joining some places where I can get advice and learn some stuff would be a good way to keep that ball rolling.
I used to play around with RPG maker XP a lot when I was in my early teens and then fell out of it for years, but it's recently been calling to me again and I actually want to make something I'm proud of this time. (The only project I ever "finished" was a glitchy broken fetch quest game full of unwinnable situations. I feel shame.)
Meeting new people and trying new things makes me very anxious so forgive me for my awkwardness.

You've come to the right place. There are lots of really cool people here that like to help in all kinds of ways. Don't feel awkward. A large number of us are introverted in nature so that's far from out of the ordinary around here. We've probably all made terrible games too. Can't get good at something until you, well, get good at it. So good luck with your game making and feel free to call on us if you need anything.

That's reassuring to hear; part of why I fell out of it when I was younger was being too afraid to ask for help. I'm making an effort not to let that be an obstacle anymore. Thank you!
