Hello Everyone,
I just joined the website and decided to go into indie game business. I'm optimistic and ready to learn! ^_^

Welcome, nice to have you. You planning to do this as a hobby or as a career path?
For example:
Hobbyist
-Has a "real" job
-Game devs on a weekly or monthly basis
-Doesn't invest a lot of money into their game(s)
Developer
-Focus is on developing even if they have another job to pay rent
-Daily work basis
-Invest whatever it takes
I'm on the developer end now though I would say that took me about a year of learning and experimenting plus another $3,000 in developing cost (which for the most part was wasted, but I like to call it education cost)
Anywho, welcome candycakes -
Welcome to the group!
"Ready to learn", eh? These might help!
Scripting tutorials: http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?%2Ftopic%2F5554-ruby-scripting-tutorial-videos-vx-and-vx-ace%2F
Variables example and tutorial: http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/10099-variables-guide/
Various other tutorials: http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/15135-a-list-of-tutorials-for-beginners/
Then there is this one that tells how damage is calculated in an easy to read flowchart, though it is probably somewhere in the "Various other tutorials" list. http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/4219-rpg-maker-vxace-damage-flow/
Anyway, have fun! -
Dream3r: I think I'm going to be doing it as more of a hobby. Even though I'm going to invest a lot of time and money I will still focus more on my career and mostly publish games on a monthly basis.
Cadh20000: Thank you so much, this will be very useful to me. -
Glad to be of help!
