  1. Heroes Stories

    SECTION A: SYNOPSIS
    Spoiler
    • Heroes Stories is a game that revolves around 8 different characters that can potentially become the next great hero. You have 8 different characters to choose from, each with their own unique profession. All classes can learn up to 4 skills from their respective masters.

Along with the 4 skills each character can learn, new skills are learned when you equip different items. Each item will have a skill in which you can use when they are equipped. Mix and match equipment to suit your needs and face each challenge strong.

I am using battle scripts from yanfly and sprites from Aekshics and bibo also found on yanfly's site. along with a quest script from galv, crafting from syzu, and a menu script from sumrndmdde.(proper credits are given during the credits end game roll at the end of the demo.)

You may only pick one hero to tackle this journey with. However, throughout the journey new party members can be recruited for a price. Each new party member that you can recruit has a different use and can also be mixed and matched to help you face each challenge. Just like the player, each of these extra party members will learn new skills upon dawning new gear. If you find one equipment that has a skill you really like, equip it to all your recruits and let the skill spam begin!
The downside to these extra characters is that their level caps off at 50 and will never get as strong as a full level 99 main character. At times they might simply serve as a meat shield, but at times that is all you need to turn the battle around.

Some npcs will offer a quest or two down the line or even new dialogue or hints at treasure as the game progresses. Don't be a stranger, everyone enjoys a friendly chat with their hero!

Game offers multiple side quests that the player can do for rewards. Some rewards maybe something as simple as a potion, other rewards can be as amazing as a new crafting recipe scroll that will unlock new items and equipment at your disposal.

With the idea that you can only choose one of the 8 heroes to play as, I do hope this invokes the replayability aspect i hoped to achieve. Each character has different strengths and weaknesses. When picking a different character it potentially changes how you approach the game. The Myrmidon has a passive chance to counter attack vs the Vagabond taking less damage from physical attacks.

I hope you all try out and enjoy my project!

    • Léo the Myrmidon: Average stats overall. Low exp requirement for leveling up and is a good choice for a relatively easy play through.

Talon the Vagabond: Has high attack and HP at the cost of defense similar to that of a berzerker.

Sor the Thaumaturge: A mage honing his knowledge of elemental magic. Sor is the best at exploiting elemental weaknesses.

Ace the Trickster: A character with higher crit rate than the rest. Good at afflicting status ailments to change the tide of battle.

Saki the Kunoichi: The most agile character of the 8. Adept at dodging enemy attacks and punishing them with her ninja arts.

Fior the Mystic: Master of divine arts and is the opposite of the shade knight. Uses light magic to aid her allies or decimate her foes.

Rydna the Shade Knight: A knight who uses both swords and staves to make the best use of her dark magic spells and offensive capabilities. The shade knight curses her foes making them more susceptible to her spells.

I just have a quick question. Is the game heavily focused on gameplay and mechanics over story? With me assuming it is, it seems a good starting point so far that you can basically build your own team. I like the different pros between each hero character and hiring other characters sound useful too. :)

I don't get the quest log screenshot though, as it's not showing any quests? Or have I misunderstood it, you're selecting quest log but not actually opened that part of the menu yet?

yea i was just showcasing the menu script that i was using. in the screen i have yet to open the quest log menu.

and to answer your question. yes the story is very generic. young hero comes to save the world. although the demo available isnt fleshed out with everything i want to accomplish, once it is finished there will be plenty of characters for your choosing to recruit etc.
