  1. Hello, I'd like to introduce to you the game I've been working on, HERO STAFF, it's an 8-bit ARPG game with influences of classics such as Zelda, Dragon Warrior but mainly FAIRUNE (not that classic though). The game is still in development so I'm still fine-tuning a lot of things and implementing new options, etc, etc.

I'll release it on Steam as soon as it's complete, thanks and you can follow the progress on Facebook/Twitter at Pixelent Games, see ya!

    Check the trailer here!

  2. I love the presentation and idea behind this, bro. It looks like it'll be a great game to play. I'm hoping you can finish it.
  3. A fun sounding concept. Looks like something I'd make.

Not really 8-bit graphics but that tagline has become synonymous with retro so it doesn't really bother me. much.

Interested in seeing where this goes.

Hey thanks! Yeah the game should be at least 80% complete now, I'm in the middle of balancing experience levels in order to get to the next level, I don't want to be grinding too much. And working on Check points and all that stuff, so yeah, it'll be finished :D

Thanks! Yeah I guess it's more like "Pixel art"? Anyway, that retro style always fascinated me, hope you can see it when it's done, once I have fixed a few things I'll try to post an actual gameplay of the game!
  6. Still working on this, sorry for the double bump, I don't know how to delete this one!
  7. Just started implementing the EXP bar, it moves as you keep gaining EXP points!

  9. I like the graphics a lot (especially as someone working on a retro game as well I know how much work it can be)! Unfortunately I'm not a fan of that style of jousting combat cause it always feels out of my control in every game with that style I've played, whether Ys I+II or Fairune, but I'm interested enough in where this is going to keep an eye on it anyway, so best of luck with it!

I guess the game is more about finding the items than destroying the enemies, they just happen to be there lol, although I still haven't decided if I want the enemies chase you when they appear, maybe I do that :)

    Another update of the gameplay!

  12. I do like it. Sad that you cant really outsmart your enemies by attacking them behind or something like that. Game is a puzzle game where you have to avoid enemies, but sad that you cant really beat them without losing hp.

    Great work, keep it up
  13. Hey thanks! Yeah it's more focused on collecting items and solving puzzles, you still have to beat enemies to move here and there though.

  14. Enter the Cold Lands!

Orcs are not very smart, but they are definitely practical!

  15. The Ember Castle! Another section of the map (it's a map made by 200 rooms)!

  16. Hey what's up, I started working on some extra shadows for the different areas of the game, after too much thought, these were the options I came up with for THE GRASSLANDS (The first region of the game). The one of the right is what I'll use.

Hey thanks! Actually I've been spending a loot of time on the whole game, now I'm fine-tunning details!

  19. The final "fight" of the game, the BOSS ROOM! I removed the tiles just to show you how many events I had to do in order for the Boss to behave the way I wanted, every event here has a purpose, maybe 1 or 2 weren't needed at the end, but still!

Right now I'm finishing one cinematic for the game, then I'll have to arrange some other stuff (including lag-testing and playtest the game from beginning to end to see if everything is ok).
