Help with walking animation

  1. I created this sprite from scratch but, I can't seem to get him to walk properly and look good.



    Any help is greatly appreciated.
  2. you have you make 3 rows of 4 sprite base.

    A A A

    B B B

    C C C

    D D D

    A= front side

    B= one side

    C = Back side

    D = the other side

    Then you make the first (top left,) make it look like its walking with the left foot. Middle A is how you have him now, and left A shows him walking with right foot out

    do it with all 4 sides, and should work.

    example:

    kyata.png but make sure to add a back side unlike this one... its incomplete
  3. I was actually asking specifically about the animation itself, not the format. I also, dont use VX. Its not so good.

  6. I was telling you how to do the walking animation in the previous post. I wasn't just telling you the format. You have to draw him with his left foot sticking out and his right foot sticking out, and do it with views of all 4 sides of the body. thus that is why the format is 3x4.

    If that isn't the case, I don't know what your trying to say. You do have drawings of him from both sides and the back right? I am not sure how XP works, but I am assuming that sprites work the same as xp.
  7. Creating a walking animation isn't as simple as drawing him with his feet sticking out. I was asking for help on the animation.

    As it says in the thread title. The difference between VX and XP is that XP has four rows.

    eh. this difference is irrelevent. the extra XP column has the "idle" stance repeated twice. it wouldn't affect your animation
