  1. Hi all, I'm really hoping someone can help me. I have a game based on the premise of a curse thats made the night eternal. However, I'm having trouble getting just the right balance between darkness and light. If someone has some screenshots of a project where they have a night time scene, or if someone can advise what scripts/ways I can make a real good looking night time, that'd be great.

I usually use Khas lighting effects, because I like to use the light sources to my advantage.
  2. Hi Phade. May I suggest that you post a screenshot of one of the maps from your game so we can have an idea of the tone and atmosphere of your game?
  3. The most important thing for Eternal Darkness is choosing the proper Tint for the maps.  There is a Night tint available, but you can tweak it as needed.

Then, adding in some lighting such as lampposts and fires definitely helps set the mood.
  4. The best way to do it without any script is to covred all the map with shadow..

or use a pic for this!
  5. Phade, if you are just looking for a good screen tint, look here for ideas of what it can do and what you can choose:

I am not sure what you want. Can you please be much more detailed?

    And post screenshots?

(if you don't know how to do that, let us know.)
  6. I apologise for not being more detailed. I have no scenes for my game yet, as i'm trying to get this night time thing set up before I do so I can set the mood for it.

Basically, In this game the moon has completely blocked out the sun, sending the world into an eternal night. It is a medieval sort of land, castles, demons, that sort of thing,

Basically, I'd like a tint or script that would allow me to use khas's lighting effect script, because I absolutely love the lighting effect it provides, But at the same time, one of my major plans is to have the game start in a forest, where the night will begin, and you'll see the shadows of the trees above you, like you're walking under a really dense canopy with only a few areas where the moonlight can stream through.

If there is a better lighting effect script you can think of, that'd be great! I'm just really confused as to what to do.

(I apologise if i'm not being clear enough, I'm not entirely sure how to explain what I need.)
  7. Well, there is a Forest fog listed in my list of fogs, pictures and animations, but really what you want to do is spend time writing your story and perusing the Screenshot topic.

I'll get the link in just a second here.

There are several threads full of maps to look at.

Find a look you like and then find out how it is done. =]
  8. Thank you so much GrandmaDeb, that will be a huge help.
