Help with a signature

  1. I have looked over the forums to find where to post this question, but I couldn't, and hopefully the admin will move it to the right one if this is wrong...

But how do I get a picture on my signature?

It said it needed an url, so I posted the max size picture allowed on my facebook, grabbed the url, and then inserted that information. The picture is private on my account, not sure if that matters.

    Help please, and thank you!

    PS,

I'm seen some people upload plain .zip files as well, without referring to dropbox or mediafire

PPS, I've tried using the Developer Tools on my browser to see how it's done, but alas, I'm not good in html and quickly got lost in the programming.
  2. It works best to use a URL from an image sharing website such as Photobucket or Imgur.

yes, that matters - "private" means that only you and your friends can load or view that picture, and because this forum's server isn't your friend, it is not allowed to load that picture.
You need to use a publically available picture (preferably NOT from facebook, but from an image hoster) for public displays like your signature.
  4. Thank you for that! I was quite curious.

Em... Is there a comprehensive guide on signatures? Like, what if I wanted to link a game I posted through a picture?
  5. You can do it two ways really. You can use the icons on the editor you write into and click on that small picture of the image of tree. Paste in the web-link to the image and it should appear in the editor. You can add the link function to the image by highlighting it and pressing the link icon on the editor. Now you should paste the link to the website you want the click to derict to (the game page for example).

You can create the same thing by the tags, which is the code for the site's posts. [ url][ img]https//:website/has/image/you/want/to/show/up/here.png[/ img][/ url = https//:www.website/goes/here]. Just remove the extra spaces from within the brackets and it should work (with real links pasted instead of the bogus ones of course!)

The examples here have the image holding the link as you asked in your last post. In either way, you probably need to upload the img to imgur, photobucket, gyazo, puu.sh or some other image hosting site instead of private facebook account for it to show up right. Another thing with facebook is that it tampers the image quality, so it won't look so good, if hosted there. o/ Good luck!
  6. Thanks, @Scinaya! I was wondering how to make an image a link, so this helped me out too :)
