  1. Hello!

I have a question about the regions because I am stuck and need some help. On the map I am making right now I have 2 regions that I want. One will be grassy plains and the other is tall grass, whenever I go into the map properties and I change the background default to plains I can't see how to make the other background be tall grass. Whenever I get one to one of them it sets all the battles so that all of them are plains. Any help please?

       Thanks!
  2. A screenshot of your map properties would be helpful.

Is your issue getting the right troops to appear, or the right battle background?

The battle background depends on the tiles you've used. The troops depend on the region id you've used. So use the flat grass to paint your grassy plains, then paint over them with the region number you want to use for grassy plains, and set up the troop for the grassy plains. Then use the tall grass to paint the tall grass areas, then paint over them with the region number you want to use for tall grass, and set up the troop for the tall grass.

The battle background will be chosen automatically by the game, based on the tiles you've used.
  3.    No I know how the troops work, it is just the background in different zones that confused me, but my only question is that do you have a gmail account because I took the pictures via print screen button but i didn't know any other way of doing it other than a google doc. If this is an issue I can try something else to make these pictures work...

         Thank you again!
  4. Okay - if the battleback is not changing according to the tiles you've used, that means your tileset has the wrong mode. Go to the Tilesets tab, find your tileset for this map, and under General Settings, set Mode to Field Type.

    How to take a Screenshot:

You've heard people say to take a screenshot, but how does one take a screenshot of their game? Simple, while the game is running, hit the Prt Scr button on your keyboard, which is located right next to your F12 key. If you're using a laptop, you might have to use the Fn key in combination with the Prt Scr key to get it to work.

Now that you've pressed the button, it's time to paste this screenshot into an image editing software. If you don't have anything fancy such as Adobe Photoshop, GIMP or Paint.NET, no worries; you can use MS Paint instead. Open up your image editing software, create a new file, and then hit ctrl+v on your keyboard, or simply right click on the screen and select paste. This should instantly paste the screenshot into your image editing software. You can go ahead and crop the image to suit your needs, or if you don't even know what that means, you can just upload it as it is.

Save the image as a PNG, or if you really need to, as a high quality JPG.

How to upload the image to the forums

Now that you have you have an image on your computer you'd like to show us, how can you get it to show up on the forums? Firstly, you need to find an image hosting site, photobucket.com or imageshack.us are popular ones. If you have another image uploading website, great - use that one! Either way, upload it to the site, and then get the direct link. Don't get the resized link, or the thumbnail link, but the direct URL. You'll know you have the direct URL if the URL ends with the file extension you saved your image in (which will hopefully be .png).

Once you have this direct URL to your image, simply use the IMG tags in your forum post and paste the URL in between them. If this image is big, please leave the image in spoiler tags.

  5. Yeah, unless the map is field type, it will use the battleback set on the properties of the map. If it's field type, then it will get the battleback from the current tile that ur on.
  6. Ok so here are all the pictures:(sorry about the commotion of trying to figure out how to take pictures)

So I was looking around and reading what you said and I hope me just putting the links is fine... when I put it in the image tags its very big and I dont know what spoiler tags are.. so I am very sorry if me posting direct links is not allowed..

  7. wow, those pictures are HUGE! You might want to reduce them in size when you save them - actually jpgs take up less space than pngs, and are quite suitable for this purpose (since you have no transparency). Also, use Alt+PrintScreen to only get the active window instead of the whole desktop.

Did you look at the other posts and try those?

You don't specify a battleback in the map properties. So remove that by unchecking the battle background box. Then check your tileset and make sure you've got it set to Field Mode.
  8. And to get spoilers, this is what you do.  I am going to insert the symbol $, because otherwise you won't get the code, you'll just get the spoiler itself.  So when you type it, just omit that symbol.

    At the beginning type [spoiler$]

    at the end type [/spoiler$]
