  1. Hello, everyone! I just joined the forum yesterday.

After playing some Sailor Moon fan-made RPGs recently, I thought that I could try to make one too!

I've only been playing around with VX Ace for a few days, but I'm really enjoying myself. But I need a little help and advice.

Let's see...about myself.... I'm an American expat living in Japan. I play a lot of SNES ROMS. I have a cat. I'm sorry if I make an horrendous grammer mistakes. I've been living here too long.

    Nice to meet everyone!

    See, you were right!

We had seen each other before!

    Hahaha!
  5. Greetings, moonprincess.

I'd say if you want to do a Sailor Moon style RPG, you might want the DS Resource Pack, because it has a lot of anime-style resources.  But, fully explore VX Ace and get comfortable using it first.

    Start with the tutorials, etc.

    Thanks for the tip!

But my game is set 1,000 years before the main storyline, during the reign of Queen Serenity and the Age of the Silver Millennium. Sailor Moon herself won't make an appearance.

I'm trying some of the tutorials now...

Also, when you create a map, be sure to right-click on the Map and select "Load Sample Map."  These are freely provided sample maps which use the RTP.

This will give you invaluable insight on how to build the 2-D pseudo-overhead maps.

    Good luck!
