It has been years since I did any programming and even then it was very basic college courses. A couple of years ago I tried a free trial of RPG Maker. It was very interesting but I didn't have time to delve into making a game so I never purchased the full version. I saw RPG Maker VX Ace on the Steam mid week sale a few days ago and made the purchase. While my knowledge of programming is very rudimentary my love of RPG's from pen and paper through modern triple A PC games is huge. I am very excited to begin learning how to use this programming tool.
I have a few idea on games I would like to make but I believe that just making some very small games at this point is probably my best bet at learning to use RPG Maker and staying motivated by seeing results. I am sure I will have a ton of questions and need lots of help along the way. This seemed like a great place to learn and get my questions answered. Any advice on where to start would be welcome and I hope to have something started soon.

Thanks! I am currently looking at some of the games created by folks here on the forum to see what is possible. I am trying to write a short story/outline for a small game this week and start making it.
