Having trouble importing DS Resource Tilesets

  1. Hello, I'm completely new to the whole RPG Maker universe so please bear with my derpiness. ^_^'

My boyfriend bought me RPG Maker VX plus some DLC from Steam a couple months ago, but since I'm a medical student I haven't had enough time to play with it until now. I began by importing all the DLC (going to Resource Manager, etc.) but when I tried using the DS Resource tilesets, it seems like there are some missing: http://puu.sh/9LlTs/cb2334e1bf.png

For example, the above is what comes up in the Database for Interior_Home. But A4 is supposed to look like: http://puu.sh/9LmPY/2d487a16d3.png

Other tilesets are likewise missing things. If anyone has any advice, that would be greatly appreciated by an utter n00b like me. XD
  2. A1-A4 are auto-tiles, and they look slightly different in the editor than they do on the actual tile sheet. In the editor, they're compressed into something very tiny - just one square-, but if you select it and use it on the map, they will automatically tile into bigger/taller walls.

Try using the pencil tool and drawing on the maps with just one of the squares selected. :)
  3. Nothing's missing. The empty spots are supposed to be empty. This is a port of tiles from the DS version of RPG Maker and so sometimes it works better to put things on a new sheet and sometimes there's not actually artwork to fill in every spot. If you notice there's a lot more sheets than there is in the RTP, so it's not like you're missing out on anything.

The A4 tiles look like that in the editor, that's just how it works. It makes it take up less room visually but all the tile information is still there. Try actually mapping with those pieces, you'll see.
  4. Ah! Thanks so much, both of you! ^_^
