Having an issue with text.

I need help in creating a specific kind of text.

I'm trying to get text like in the picture above,that looks really good when scaled down to very low pixel resolutions.

I understand it has something to do with aliasing the text but i just cannot get text that looks "Game" like and would appreciate it if someone could help me through the process.

I use GIMP as my image editor.

It is ANTIaliasing that you're after. But you can only go so far - the lower the resolution, the more difficult it's going to be to get something that looks good.

Anti aliasing is what i meant.

And i know it can only go so far but you can get good looking clear text at the res shown in the picture it's just i don't really know how and ws hoping someone who may have experience in making this specific type of text can chime in and give me some advice.
