  1. Can't wait, got a whole dwarven town/ mine to fill up haha
  2. Alright sorry folks, I wasn't able to snag time tonight to work on any of the beards or hairstyles. But as a treat I will post sneak peak facesets of what I have in store so you all can see how well the pieces do in the generator, what kind of faces you can create, and in most of these faces cases, they are mixed and matched with parts already in the generator.

Aaaaaaand because I am a huge Tolkien fan, how could I not resist from recreating my favorite thirteen dwarfs--starting with Fili. Now I don't know all the fine details of copyright infringement, so erring on the side of caution with Fili having the likeness of the actor from the Hobbit trilogy, I would say that the below faceset is for non-commercial use only.

    Fili_1.png
  3. I'm a big fan of these. The parts can even be used on non dwarves just fine.
  4. @MMMm - Thank you for the compliment and for saying so! I had completely overlooked the very fact that--yes, I am designing these pieces to be used for any kind of character build really, not just dwarves. The pieces for the men are meant for the rugged, the burly, the thugs and the handsome princes...at least it will be as I get more pieces out.

@PhxFire --Ooo...a whole dwarven town and mine? Is your game available for download anywhere?

Speaking of which, I finally have some more pieces ready! Including long awaited TV and SV! Yay! Now a note, these were the easiest to get out because they are...well because it's Beard 7 in the default generator. As such, you must have a legal copy of RPG Maker MV engine to use these pieces. When I started this back in 2017 I wasn't sure where to begin by making generator pieces, that is why these beards are all variants of Beard 7. It was me making minor edits and getting my toes wet. I have grown more confident with creating new generator pieces since and am working on entirely original pieces but those will take more time than simple edits.

Now some notes, Beard 7's TV, TVD and SV works just fine for the clean cut variant I posted back in 2017. So what you will have to do is go into your generator file, copy Beard 7 and rename it to whatever number that you have set for my cleaner cut beard variant. As for the twelve'o'clock beard, that was designed for Face 3 in men.

For anyone using these pieces, let me know what you think! I would love feedback so I can improve further. For instance, with the twin braided variant, should there be more animation for it in SV? I was uncertain if it should move at all for poses such as idle. Should it have a subtle swaying motion at all or remain static?

  5. @Guardinthena Not at the moment, it's still in development! I've got so much planned to be in the game that it probably won't be released till next year atleast so don't hold your breath lol... If you wanna ready the synopsis I've got it here, and there'll be a free copy for ya after it's released. I'm gonna give a copy to anyone who helped me with resources in my game :D
  6. That's very nice of you, @PhxFire .
  7. It's secretly my evil plan to get reviews, Muahahaha... Nah but for real the way I figure is that my game wouldn't be what it is without their hard work so it's the least I can do lol
  8. Remade the Dwarf Merchant I mentioned earlier in the thread using your Generator pieces, here are the before and after. https://i.imgur.com/PWQoXCr.png
    A huge improvement.
  9. @KRS -Eee!! Thank you for posting that! I am so glad that you like the pieces and that they are suiting your needs. However, I noticed the moustache is over clipping the nose. :( When I get time I can look into either shortening the nose so that that doesn't occur with the default generator pieces, see if there is a way to make it overlap like the hair, or for a quick fix--if you have a paint program like Photoshop or Gimp--you can make the quick fix yourself before I am able to tackle the problem. That aside, huge improvement just like you said! But I am curious where that beard came from! That one isn't one of mine!

@PhxFire -Sweet! Free game in my future! But yes, that is very kind of you Phxfire and when it's out I'll give you a review! ;)
  10. Wow, this is epic. Thanks so much for the time you've invested in this.
  11. Hello and thank you, Gaurdinthena! Returning user from the VX days, here, and my time with MV was nearly cut short, due to the lack of dwarven character assets in RTP. I was sitting here looking at my world map all like *opens up MV character maker for the first time, effortlessly makes ice and ash elf characters* "Kay, glad that's possible. Oh yeah, the party needs to make it to Kul'Teras, but they have to pass through Caer'Bannon and Scarlough first, which have heavy cultural and ethnic highland dwarven and scarlic population densities, so I next, guess I gotta... Wait... WHERE THE **** ARE THE DWARVES!?"

Definitely had me sweating for a moment. Thank you so much for keeping me from culling away half of Scarlough's population, and erase or rewrite six countries from the map. (Well, 2 of which were underground anyways, so I guess 4.)
  12. I'm glad I could help with your game, @Chocopyro! I've had issues with lack of dwarf parts since VX Ace, so I am very glad to hear that these are coming in handy for others as well! I've been contemplating returning to make more dwarf parts (or rather, finish what I started with my slew that I still have on my computer!) In addition, I am going to be opening a new thread later today that hosts edits that I have done for MV. Some that you might be interested in are the edits I've done for large wine barrels that are fixed in walls. I created them way back for flushing out my taverns and cellars. Might be good for a dwarf tavern, or any really. ;)

Also, just by the name of the countries in your game I am very curious about it!
  13. Oh, I look forward to it!

And well, I can't say much about the game at this point as I'm still drafting the story, but it is going to be sort of a fairy tale themed one, where a group of children and an ice elf bard start to search for the Frostwald Psalms in the realm of the winter fae.

The world its set in, though, it's a Pathfinder/D&D setting I made. I could probably send a link to a lore page I made for my D&D players, and people who see me at cons, and want to know more about the character I play and the world he's from. (I have a little cosplay group that runs around and does quests for people at cons, because I was curious to know how freelance adventurers would actually market themselves.) If you're interested, just ask. At some point, I plan on open sourcing it. Maybe even let other people make games set in it, or something.
  14. Wanted to throw my two cents in as to how much I love these generator parts. I'm not making a game about Dwarves specifically, but I find having these extra options for more pronounced noses and unique beard styles helps me just make more unique-looking characters.
  15. UUUUUUPPPPDAAAAAAATE!!!

Oh dear, I am soooo sorry it took this long for more content! I dug through my stockpile of what I had been working on and wrapped it all up! So I'm gifting you guys a treat of four new beards, (kind of). These four are edits of Beards Four and Eleven from the Generator. They are complete with all pieces -Face, SV, TV, TVD, and Variation. I even went to the liberty of finally getting around to renumbering my material so you guys won't have too! I have numbered my stuff in the 50s-and I doubt Degica has created 50+ beards between my updates.

Now as for future updates, I DO want to keep making more beards and other generator pieces for you guys as part of this project. It is wonderful to help me build the necessary skills and confidence to create the more elaborate pieces I want to make. In that vein, I don't have any more edits of generator parts on hand or in mind for further updates. So future content should be original unless something comes up- in which case I'll let you guys know when I post. I plan to create the unique beards from The Hobbit movies to get me going, so more elaborate pieces will be on the way--just unlikely to be in a huge dump like this again, likely one per update.

And @HeyItsKidd thank you for adding your bit! @MMMm said the same thing in an earlier post. Perhaps I should edit the name of this forum so others will know too? Currently the page offers more in terms of variation, as you mentioned, than strictly dwarven material.

@Chocopyro --Ice elf bard?! Frostwald Psalms? Fae Realm?! Now I'm really curious!

The four beards I have for you are: Handlebar mustaches! By itself, with a curl, and with a beard! I hope everyone enjoys!

  16. Nice job! The new beards look pretty fantastic so far. I also figured out an easy way to resize the sprites to get a slight dimensional difference between humans, dwarves, and human children. Merely separate the head from the body/outfit, shrink the body down a pixel (Careful not to move them out of place) while keeping the head the same size, then move the head down a pixel. This kinda gives the illusion that their bodies are a little more compact.

    Sample size comparison:

    Credits
    Armor used: DarkDragon76's Generator Parts

    Ears: Hiddenone's MV Resources

Shield on back (See Cloaks) and front hair: Ice's Generator Parts
    Think that's everything.
  17. Loving those beards!
    I mean, really!
    :hhappy:
  18. @Chocopyro --OMG! I am LOVING on that dwarf! Totally going to go and grab those generator resources now! Ice putting the shield on the back as a Cloak piece was genius--and also totally gives me ideas...

Also, just a little update on my current progress--I've been hard at work on recreating Nori the Dwarf from the Hobbit movie. Why did I start with Nori? I wanted a challenge with the hair/beard--and I got it. Ugh.

Good news! I have his Face, TV and TVD done for his hair and eyebrows (which I had to put in the front hair). Example of the what the Face looks like below:

    Nori.png

Now I'm not ready to upload Nori's pieces yet. I still need to polish the Front and Back Hair and do his beard and I don't want to upload any of that before I have everything done-Face, TV, TVD and SV all.

However! I did find some other generator resources that were made and posted over on RPGMakerCentral. The forum says these are just TV, Face and Variation, but maybe some of you out there would like these as well:

Dwarves generator parts [Face,TV and Variations]
    Happy RPGing!
  19. Thanks for doing this. Big fan of dwarves and kind of new at this so I'm building up a library to work with first. Much appreciated.

You are very welcome! I know other RPG Makers out there building a fantasy game would want dwarf pieces for the generator as much as me-so I was always determined to supply but life has been hectic for me for the last few years. More are on the way soon though, I promise!--and keep an eye out on my other thread here, I plan to upload tile pieces for gem mines soon. Some advice on building up an asset library, because I've done the same, stay organized! I have a file dubbed 'community' and seperated into artist from there. It helps me that way and it saves time doen the road!
