I registered yesterday but completely forgot to introduce myself, so here is the proper thread.
Full first name's Guilhem, 41 since a few weeks and a freelance graphic artist since the very end of the previous century, but I consider more myself as a writer –or at least a story teller–: this is why, after some short (and I mean short) experiences in the video game industry as well as some mapping for Unreal Tournament and Unreal Tournament 2003/2004, I decided to use a game creation tool more oriented toward story telling in order to build my own game and then begin a possible career as an indie developper.
I have begun creating various assets for my project a few months ago, all based on my experience of 3D software because I intend to rely heavily on paralaxes. The story belongs to the fantasy genre although I do not plan to give a lot of room to magic, at least in the game mechanics – it should be more some sort of "realistic" Middle Age if I may say...
But it isn't the place to discuss my project so I stop there. Looking forward to discuss with everyone in more appropriate threads: all of you take care!
Greets!

Hey, welcome to the community! Just by reading you're description I can tell you have a lot of potential. I am a 26 year old indie developer myself and veteran with RPG Maker. Again, welcome to the community and best wishes to you and all you're all you're future projects!

Welcome to the group!
-
Thank you very much for these warm welcomes: see you soon!
-
I tried that too :) And true it seems weird to tell others that I like more RPGMaker ;) Welcome.

You mean UnrealEd? Personnaly, it's not that I like one more or less than the other, it simply is that RPGM makes far easier to build a complete game; also, 2D is simpler to handle than real-time 3D, especially with nowaday standards... ;)
Thanks to you aswell for the welcome: take care! -
You too.
Yes Unreal Ed. I did some wonderful amazing exterior map from a tutorial except once over I populated it and it was a total carnage as you can guess and... When I made start point and visited it I kept falling in invisible small craters.
Well that's me on my attempts to create a world. ;)
I have the tendency in that game to receive multiple headshots while admiring the environment!
I guess it won't happens on RPGMaker VX ACE. That and extra time texturing and modeling.
And re-tag the take care ^^ -
Interesting intro, nonetheless, welcome aboard!

Thanks! :rock-right:

Sounds fantastic, A heavily gritty fantasy is always fun in the RPG format, at least in my opinion
-
Thanks for your support :)
I'm not really going for a "heavily gritty fantasy", or at least I don't think so, but I hope you'll appreciate my attempts for going in a different direction than pixel art... -
Welcome! I loved the Unreal Tournament games, used to play the heck out of them with some friends of mine. I look forward to seeing your work! :D

I hope you'll like it: see you soon! :)
