Greetings

Hello all.

My name is Cade, and I'm one of those unfortunate souls that has too many creative ideas, but few of the skills to make my ideas happen. I've always wanted to get into the video game industry, but it's been prohibitively difficult. I have no programming experience, I can barely draw, and I don't have the time and money to go to school for the things that developers want. In other words, I don't have the skills and can't get the experience. What I can do is write fiction. As of this writing, I am not yet published, but I'm trying. And, I'm confident that I will get published in the near future. But, I would still like to take that skill into the world of video game development.

And, here is where RPG Maker comes in. Trying to find a way around my limitations, and researching independent development, I came across this program. It does most of what I can't do, which is awesome. And, it seems like it has a pretty good community, which can be rare on the internet. So, I'm looking forward to learning, I plan on purchasing VX Ace, and I'm sure I'll be asking for plenty of help in the months to come.

Also, if people have questions about storytelling, I'm pretentious enough to believe that my opinion is valuable, and I'm more that willing to provide advice and pointers. ;)

Ah.. I'm with you there in terms of too many ideas and too few skills.. Although personally I also lack any writing skills. =) Haha.. Any how, welcome to the forums and good luck in your endeavors. ^-^;
