Hi,
In my game I need a scene in which The Professor gives Android two hundred coins! However for some reason when I begin the game The Professor does not appear - He's not there, almost like he is invisible. I tried fixing it myself but nothing I do seems to work, so hopefully you can help me.
Below is what I have set for the Professor:
Self-Switch A is on.
Change Gold + 200
Then I have a message "Here is 200 coins"
Then I open another tab, Self-Switch A is on!
And then I add another message saying:
"Come now Android, I have already give you 200 coins. It is enough to get you started!"
I've already tried to fix it myself and don't seem to know what the problem is. If anyone thinks they can help me then please do!
Thanks.

please provide screenshots of the event.
The most probable cause for this is that you set the conditions of the event pages wrong, resulting in the event page never becoming active. For example if you have condition self-switch ON on every page, then the event will never execute because there is no active page that can control the self-switch.
Switches are like locked doors - you need the key outside the house to unlock it, it doesn't help you to lock the door (condition self-switch) and have the key (control self-switch command) inside the house (event page) -
Sorry I still don't understand. Also I print screened my event but I don't know how to upload screenshots!
-
After you press the prntscreen button on your keyboard, open Paint.Sorry I still don't understand. Also I print screened my event but I don't know how to upload screenshots!
Then immediately pree CTRL + V. Then your image will be there.
Save that image, and upload it in hosting image site. Example : imgur, tinypic, and so on.
Now in your post, click the image uploader symbol, you know, the square green like pic above(beside code and quotes).
Lastly after the copy the link of that image in the box.
And it's done.
(I'm sorry I'm not good at explaining, more worst with my bad english).
For your event professor maybe you forgot to not use any graphic? -
Sorry I still don't understand. The main problem is that "Self-Switch is ON" is a sentence that gives us absolutely no information, because it is incomplete.Below is what I have set for the Professor:
Self-Switch A is on.
There are two different parts of each switch, and you didn't tell us which part you're talking about.
Is that "Condition Self-Switch A is set ON"
or is that "Control Self-Switch A command sets the switch to ON"?
You need both, condition and command - and they need to be on different pages of the event. They CANNOT work if they are on the same page, and they cannot work if you have used only condition or only control.
From your description I assume that you used only the condition, and that you set the condition self-switch A on all pages. If that is the case, then that is the reason why it doesn't work - switches need both parts, same like a key and a lock - a lock without a key is useless, and a key that you don't have a lock for is also useless. -
Thanks, but I won't be able to upload pictures. I have an internet safety program on my computer and blocks every site, I'll have to talk to my dad. Not sure if Quastodio will allow it though?
-
Yes I did use condition. One in one tab and another in the other tab.
What do I need to do?
*Sorry for the double post, forgot again, sorry! -
On the second tab, on the top left, make sure that the 'if self switch A is on' thing is ticked. Also, make sure there is an image for the event.
-
Yes both of those are ticked.
-
Attach the images of each page of the event to a post.
-
Hmm, did you mean Qustodio? Well, that might be a problem if you can't enter a hosting image site.
I agree with Andar
Is that "Condition Self-Switch A is set ON"
or is that "Control Self-Switch A command sets the switch to ON"?
You need to not use condition in first page. Check it out.
-
I can't. I have Quastodio and it would block the sites I need to access, my dad can't free those websites up at the moment!
-
Yes its Qustodio, sorry about the spelling mistake!
It is set to condition but I don't know how to set it to controller. I can't find that option... -
Just click on 'more reply options' at the bottom of this topic and then choose 'attach file: choose file' - you won't need to use an image uploader, I don't think. It uploads through this site.
-
Godness, I mean you just not need to use any condition for the first page. Just leave the left corner not ticked with anything.
-
-
First tab, untick self switch A is on.
First tab, also add in on the right hand side: turn self switch A on (it's an event command, the things on the left are conditions that run on those commands) -
Thank you Hotfirelegend!
I got there in the end, it took the best part of twenty minutes but I finally did it. I can now move on with Crystaline, so thank you :)
Best Answer A+++ -
Glad you can solve it. And one thing..
No, no one is stupid here, and yes you just need more experience :)
This seems easy to all of you, but to me this is extremely had. Not like that, it just because we are more experienced than you, otherwise we will confused too.
I suggest to follow this tutorial for beginner if you don't mind, it helps a lot in understanding in how the programs works.

That will definitely help you in understand more about eventing, switch and variables =) -
Ah ok. Thanks!
I don't mind following tutorials, however the only problem I find with them is when I get stuck. I've followed tutorials before and I never really seem to understand them, hopefully the RPG ones will be a lot easier!
Thanks. :)
Oh and I'd also like to thank everyone else who tried to help me. I think I appeared a little ungrateful back there, I am sorry for that, I got a little annoyed because I couldn't figure it out. Thank you everyone!
