@beliziam It looks quite nice, but I think it could be smaller (like from the back of the dinner table chairs -> up)
This is my mining town. I tried condensing it as much as possible, though I still hate the layout. It's too... vertical.
The tiles are edited public domain sets from Opengameart.org.
(Also, the water autotiles are messed up, but I don't know why)

@Shinguccci There's two things that come to mind about these maps.
- What kind of game are you making?
- Can you walk under the upper tiles of the ceiling autotile?
Are you making an action game, horror, that sort of thing? Does there need to be that much space in the hallways to give the player freedom of movement around enemies? Being that said, three tiles wide is still good for letting the player walk in the middle of the hall, which is more aesthetically pleasing that being stuck on one side or the other with two-tile-wide hallways. I might be overthinking this bit.
The other question is regarding how the lower tiles interact with the ceiling tiles. The way the floor autotile meets the top of the ceiling autotile lacks depth - there should be some overlap such that when the player sprite walks underneath the top row of tiles, it gives the impression of the wall rising up at the "front".

If however you can't walk into the point those lower and upper tiles meet, this isn't such an issue, but I personally find it visually cleaner. -
Playing around a little more with ambient light and light occlusion in parallax mapping.
Tell me what you guys think :
-
@Finnuval The light coming from the windows is too strong and too white.
-
@cabfe well it's supposed to be early morning so I chose a higher intensity but I see your point. Thanks for the feedback :)
-
@Finnuval I believe they mean you should try a different colour. White doesn't look as atmospheric, try a light yellow instead :)
-
@Celianna okay, thanks for the added feedback xD
-
@Finnuval I would also blur them a little. Those very distinct, narrow rays don't fit with the size of the window panes, far too narrow. Blurring will hide that a bit.
-
@Juanita Star Maybe I'm counting wrong, but it seems the walls near the counter are three tiles high, while the rest is only two tiles high. I also agree with trying to condense and/or change up the floor plan. I'm also missing some decoration on the tables (vase with flowers, candlelight)
@beliziam The paintings on the diagonal walls are cut off. Otherwise great map. :)
@Shinguccci Not going to reinterate what @Tayruu said, as I wholehardly agree. Something that's been bugging me since I first saw them though is: what are they? I mean they're clearly hallways, but of what building? Is it an office or a school or an appartment or a hospital (probably not, but who knows)? -
@StrawberrySmiles I like these tileset. Looks like a true old school game. Something from the NES era.
@Finnuval I really liked the way you used some RTP resources and made it look like something totally new. -
@StrawberrySmiles: long time no see!
Vertical isn't necessarily a bad thing, keeps the game only scrolling in one direction so you know where you are and where you need to go.
Tileset is nice and looks easy to work with. -
@Finnuval @slimmmeiske2
Sorry, sometimes my english slips. I meant it was a map for a love-cafe, but in general, as in theme, but not for pairs purpouse. Said that, I will work on a new floor-plan! I really liked those sugestions, thanks! (Oh, and there are decorations in the tables, but as sprites. But my map-print script cant catch those.) -
Current build for my Hiphop/Dance inspired rpg.

Made some progress on my game, it's not much, but it's something, and something is something, or something?
-
@StrawberrySmiles
Great map! I love old school, but I have a question.
It looks like all wooden objects are the exact same color. Are you limiting yourself to use only a small number of different color or is it an aesthetic choice?
@superkoopa
Something is something. Definitely. Surely Your screenshot shows a very unique style, but it made more sense after I read it will be a dance inspired RPG. Made me remember juuuust a little bit of PaRappa the rapper. -
@SolonWise - Both actually. I'm using a certain color palette for these tiles, and the browns are limited.
-
Testing a tileset I'm working on.
Spoiler -
@SolonWise that one green patch is aa bit too bright in comparisiom. Other then that I really like the colorsheme, very earthy xD
-
@SolonWise I'd remove the shadow for the fence.
As it is, it looks like it's put down on the ground instead of standing on it.
