  1. I'm finally finished with all the maps for the first town and I wanted to show it off a bit. It took me a long time, but I think it was worth the work.
This is just one room of several, but it's the one I spend the most time on. What do you think?

    Looking realy good.
Only 'critisism' I have is it lacks shading on the floor from the upper balcony so I'd personally pull the floor shading a little into the room to create that extra sense of depth.

Other then that it's really good. Lot of work went into it and it shows :)
  3. I recently finished a couple maps for the Toadstool Grassland area:

  4. Working on this~

In game the whole screen will have a red tint.
  5. Couple of shots from my WIP throne room.

  6. @fop, that looks very sweet, honey! Gonna be a ton of work for gardeners in this palace, no? Also, person in black gives me lovely Marle vibes, must be the pants and the slippers? :kaoluv: Aaaand, is that an awesome lookin' green wallpaper on the bottom pic?
  7. @fop , I love that giant wisteria tree! (Wisteria tree? I've only ever seen it as climbing vines, but that's what it looks like to my un-plant-savvy eyes XD) What a beautiful throne room!

This was my entry for the Festival mapping contest! It's got a couple of wacky things going on with it (water vs the cliff edge, shakes fist) but I am very proud of it!

    Large Image!

Includes resources from Avery, Pandamaru, Lunarea, Euphony, PixelArtWorld, Wecoc and the Mundo Maker crew, Tana, Mack, and Sithjester--as well as my own!

Special thanks to @Avery for the round towers tutorial--it makes such a huge difference, having round towers instead of square ones!
  8. @TeiRaven Oh my, that's amazing. It demonstrates perfectly the mapping and RTP superiority of XP over the other engines. :)
  9. @TeiRaven, super wacky street lamps! Kinda art nouveau?
  10. Be sure to explore every nook and cranny in Belrynna. There's lot of hidden items and areas to be found!

  11. @ts50 Thank you! Yeah, I'm very fond of the XP RTP--and the three-layer mapping system, haha. It feels so nicely detailed, and I vastly prefer the proportions to later engines' RTPs.

@alice_gristle Yes! I'm very glad they read as more "art nouveau" than "Dr. Seuss," which definitely went through my head when I made them XD
  12. One of the more time-consuming endeavors for a late section of my project!

  13. @thepsyche I really love this map!
The cliffs, scatterings of rocks, and broken bits all look so natural and great.
One point: maybe it's fine in-game, but just from this picture the lighting looks a bit hard to see in.

@AliceWz Your bust image and textbox look so good. I love the little name box.

This is a map I'm pretty proud of. I think I have good skills in creating simple but visually interesting maps and I really like how I can feel the personality in each of the houses. View attachment 216749And now, in-game:View attachment 216750
Looks good. The gold trees are nice
  15. @TeiRaven Ooh, that looks very beautiful. The colour choices are very Aveyond esque. I noticed there's an issue with the elven maid sprite and the cliff with the waterfall looks a bit off.
Is this for the vampire game you started years ago or for a completely different one?
  16. @slimmmeiske2 oh my goodness, you remember that! It is a completely different game, in fact, but I'm astonished you remember that project. I thought it had died of old age and been lost to time when the Aveyond forums went down. Maybe someday I'll dig out that flashdrive and see if I've improved XD

I think I see the issues you mean! I've already fixed the waterfall-over-the-cliff--I ran out of time to fuss with it for the contest, but I made a tile specifically to do that job after the fact.

As for the elf maid, she's actually not the only one who gave me trouble! For some reason, the Steam version of XP doesn't quite know how to handle the transparency from something exported from Gimp these days? I'm not sure if it was an update to Gimp or an update to XP, but if I import something with a transparent background, it's a 50/50 shot whether it imports with a black or white background. So evidently I need to add a neon background and re-import a bunch of things!

Thank you for appreciating ~ ☆
I tend to make the textbox more like a blackboard, it's a little difficult to itimate the chalk stain 0v0
The name box actually is a part of the character picture, it's kind of oppotunistic XD

    That shadow is so ominous.
Actually the house in the distance happens to belong to Rubia Rabbit:

  19. Oh my god @Neonzumi, your palette! :kaoluv: That burgundy red looks soooo delicious with yo pastels!
