@Ace of Spades The movement is pretty awesome. I shall restrict my reply to the map as a map.
In tone it's all a bit the same, large expanses of identical tiles. I would break up the grass with patches of long grass, weeds, a bit of scuffed earth or something. At the moment it looks like an immaculate lawn. I would also break up the uniform height of the cliffs in one or two places by having half-height cliffs of a couple of tiles width. Maybe put some plants growing out of the cliff walls, or perhaps a crack. Again the word that comes to mind is 'immaculate'.
The trees that form the right hand barrier across the river look like they are floating. What supports them? On the section slightly higher up (below the first chest) they descend in a smooth band down the vertical cliff in an impossible way. The same thing happens on the left side of the map. The building next to that chest appears to have the cliff as its back wall. That is unlikely. It needs to be a tile away from the cliff at least.

Here is a small part of my forest. Any feedback, no matter how harsh, is appreciated :D

And here is the in-game screenshot during day time.

The tileset still a WIP -
Mind the obvious WIP stuff. Just showing off some modifications to default and Yanfly plugins.

@Skyquake The thing that stands out to me most about that map is how sparse the trees look. I don't know what your tileset looks like, but in a forest like that I feel like the trees should be denser. The negative space is kind of distracting.
@BloodletterQ Love the battle menu! Had a hard time following the video though as the frame rate kept skipping. -
My computer isn’t really friendly with RM and heavy duty stuff but wanted to show off some edits that can’t really be shown well in a screenshot like the restored evade animation and static win pose.
-
@ashikai I see what you mean. Though in a pine forest the treest aren't that close together, I'll make a test map with the 2x2 pine tree, but first, time for me to recolour the snowy one once again....*sigh*
-
@Skyquake It's not just the density, it's the complete regularity of it which struck me. Some of the trees could be more tightly packed the way the default has parts of 4 trees together which you can combine into various shapes. I just spent 2 minutes max with the Ace RTP to show you what I mean, as it's easier than trying to explain it in words.
Unless you have a commercial pine plantation, forests are more irregular, like this example. You can still arrange things so that the player is blocked from moving where you don't want them to, but it is more visually interesting. You could also, if you wanted to, put a chest in there which can only be reached by some careful navigation. It then gives a reason for the player to walk through that forest other than just getting from A to B. -
@Kes while you were writing the reply I gave another shot to the forest map.It took me more time to recolor the tree than the map itself, though it needs some more bits here and there. And yes i think I like it more this way :D
Spoiler -
@Skyquake Yes, I agree, much better. I would be inclined to have a little bit more variety. Could you bear to change the hue on a version of that tree a bit and randomly dot it around? Not a lot, just e.g. occasionally near the path so that the player sees it.

@Thomas Smith I think it's all too boxy and the floor is too flat and pristine apart from those crystal things which would have been removed by whoever created that space.
I think you might be helped by having a look at the trailer for Ara Fell on Steam, a game made with rm2k3 using basically the same tile set. Even in the trailer you can get brief glimpses of his equivalent to your cave/mine. Even better, there is a free demo and there are several maps very near the beginning which would perhaps give you ideas about how you can break this up a bit. -
Ah, okay, I will do that.@Thomas Smith I think it's all too boxy and the floor is too flat and pristine apart from those crystal things which would have been removed by whoever created that space.

EDIT: Okay, @Kes, how does it look now?
-
@Thomas Smith , it already looks better! The map looks much more organic now! Well done!
@RocketKnight , your map looks beautiful! Good job!
I tried to draw something unique myself this time and in the end, I made my pixel art thingy into a splash screen for the community to use. Even if it's something small, I'm really proud of myself for making it. :kaojoy:

Thank you! Should I add some moss on the ground?@Thomas Smith , it already looks better! The map looks much more organic now! Well done!

Your splash screen looks awesome! -
@Thomas Smith That's a lot better. Moss could work in the right place e.g. corners where people don't walk much.
You need to be a bit more careful about relative scale. In the middle of the map you have a pickaxe - which is the full height of the wall it's leaning against! It is unlikely that any human who fitted the scale of the map would be able to wield it. -
Good point xD but I didn't make the tileset, ha ha, maybe I will edit that part a bit :)@Thomas Smith That's a lot better. Moss could work in the right place e.g. corners where people don't walk much.

Due to the overwhelmingly positive reception of Border of her Heart, I'm making a free Full HD DLC for it for everyone to enjoy. Here's some samples of what's to expect.

@Kes I guess this is what you mean :D (sorry for the late reply, I just got back from a mountain trip)
Spoiler
@Alexander Hawksmoor The map is pretty but 2 things come to mind. 1) The straight cliffs and 2) The slope on the left side is too steep for that height. Either make a smaller height, or a longer slope.
