Tons of work today. Tons. I still have the scrolling-from-right-to-left problem but I'm making the most of it. Well, the character is moving from one side of the castle to the other, so it may be excused but I'm trying to spiff it up so it isn't so drawn out and boring. Redid two maps. I'm working on them nearly daily so it's one of the few things I've accomplished enough to post here, so I might only have mapping picture to post.
The first one took two days on and off. I worked clockwise but by the time I got to the bottom room, my creativity was starting to wane. They weren't supposed to be bedrooms so I tried to make them lounge/work places instead. It turned out pretty good! I had tried parallaxing to save it back when I first learned but that also didn't look quite right so I decided to scrap it all together.
Second was a hallway that was very very bad before. Some variety in wall structure made it less awful. With lighting effects in game, they look very nice I think.
Pictures might be a bit big.
Spoiler
Before. Actually one of the first rooms I've made.

Into:

Removed the debris for the redo comparisons. I think I've improved a bit, now that I see them side by side.
Hallway before:

Dat empty space doe.
Into:

Both pictures have suits of armor with decorations above them. The bigger hall has some swords and spears instead of the crossed swords and shield. I didn't want to repeat them so much when these two rooms are supposed to link together.
That's all I got. Thanks for looking!
