Game Character Hub importation?

  1. I have just started working with the programs, using RPG maker vx ace and Game character hub. I am making characters in the game hub and trying to import them. I cant figure out the settings to get the face to be centered when i import it into rpg maker. it seems the game character hub faces are saved bigger than the panels in RPG maker, is there a way to resize the face pictures? the game sprites themselves all fit, just the Face picture seems to be bigger than what the program uses, yet im starting the new characters with Face Rpg maker vx ace setting. I am sorry that i ask such a silly question, i looked around (and am currently watching tutorial videos) and cant find a direct answer. this is the second time using a program like this, the ps1 version wasnt that great, i could only make an opening scene on that. i am hoping to expand into a fully flushed out game with this one. any help would be appreciated.
  2. just import them via the resource manager make sure to put them in the right folder to.
  3. Okay, just for context I messed around with the face creation part of Game Character Hub (I haven't really used it much yet) and it works just fine for me; it doesn't save any bigger than a typically sized faceset (for reference Ace typically uses facesets where the faces are 96x96 when looked at in an imaging editing program and come in two rows of four across, so in total a faceset is typically 384x192) How are you trying to import/export it?

If you mean the fact that it comes out with more blank space around it then a typical looking faceset, that happens when you use Ace's built in generator as well, though you can open it up in an image editor (preferably one that works with transparency like Gimp or Photoshop and such) and crop it down to just the face (it'll still work just fine, or at least that's what I've found) Though if you're making more than one, it'd possibly just be better to combine them all on one sheet (it can save space, and it looks to be the point of the way the Game Character Hub's saving for faces works)

If that's not the problem you may need to expand more on your situation.
  4. there must be something that i am doing wrong, saving the file differently or something. the face size picture is clearly too large to fit in the parameters that the other faces allow in the game. i will try to include pictures.

  5. Oh, I see what you're problem is; you're saving it as just the png option. Either try one of the other options that has Ace beside it if you still can or resize the face down to 96x96 in an image editing program (preferably something that allows for transparency like Gimp or Photoshop) It'll work once you do either of those.
  6. Thank you lemongreen, saving as one of the other files, helped very much. I thought I had tried one of them, but I guess in my frustration, I didn't get it to work. but saving as the row really helped.
  7. Dunno if you guys are still having this issue, I know this thread's long dead, but I found this thread while having the same issue as OP and found that if you select the frame in GCH by clicking on your face that you're creating and clicking the "Change Character Size" button, located next to the Zoom in feature and simply set the image size to 96x96, making sure the "Resize frame images" box is ticked, it should import nicely into VX ace and is usable!

Hope this helps someone else out here.
