Is it possible that the last site update disabled the notifications for topics one follows? One topic I follow has had several posts but I've not received any notification at all.
Thanks

not all the time, but sometimes, I won't receive the red notification but if I click on it anyways there are some notifications that I haven't read. Also some times I just on't recive any notifications on topics follow, but when I look at the topic, people have posted stuff.

No, that's not how it works. Not sure what would really be the problem. I'm honestly beyond sick of this forum software and wish we would have gone with something less bloated and problematic.

The notifications I was referring to are the ones you receive by email, not the little red markers when you actually visit the site.

Thanks for the suggestion, but no, I haven't changed any of my options. Indeed, I can't remember the last time I used the edit function in my profile, it's been so long.

I have a similar problem where I keep getting emails to a bunch of threads I never subscribed to even though I've got them all turned off. Clicking unsubscribe results in an error page. I wonder if it's related?

If not actually a sibling, it sounds like it's a close cousin.I wonder if it's related?

I wonder if this is related to the profile > settings "Notification Preferences". It appears all you need to do is "reply" to a post / thread and you are automatically set to follow (i.e. be subscribed). Image of setting below. You may be able to avoid all if you choose "none" from the drop-down, but I'm not sure as I've not tried it.

Everything that's even remotely related to me getting emails has been turned off and I've checked and rechecked every option at least three times. That particular option is off and set to "None".

Hmmmm ... then the only answer appears to relate to Nathanial B's response, I guess ...Everything that's even remotely related to me getting emails has been turned off and I've checked and rechecked every option at least three times. That particular option is off and set to "None".
