Hey,
So the game starts with a dragon attacking the town of the hero.
In the cutscene I already have the hero waking up to noise and have him walk through his house to look at what is going on in town.
But after I have him transferred to the town map I scrolled the map to where I think the dragon might be, but then how I show this dragon flying around (possibly even spraying some fire around)?

I'd use a Show Picture event followed by a Move Pic event to make the dragon flying around. With a second pic showing the dragon spraying fire, you'll show him flying around and spraying fire. Alternating between the two pics, the beast will be flying without spraying fire and flying while spraying fire.

I thought of using this dragon:

but when I add it to the characters and then click in it, I only get some wings in my case. How do I get it so that it is recognised as a bigger monster? -
If that is the only thing on the sprite sheet then rename it with $ in front.
-
I just did, but I think the sizing is wrong cause now I get like a dragon and a half..
-
It's a 4x4 sheet, so it's formatted for XP... Remove the first column and you'll be set.
-
and I can just do that in paint? Or do I need something like photoshop or gimp?
-
You could possibly do that in paint via crop tool, not really sure as I don't use it. I personally use Paint.net, coz it's much more powerful than paint and is free.
-
Yeah, don't use Paint, because it doesn't allow transparency. Paint.NET is easy to use and will do it.

I am now using a different picture

but it is only showing the face of the dragon and the right wing. With paint.NET I changed the name and added the $ in front of it, or is there something else I should change?
EDIT:
AHA! I found the solution in a different thread http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/5566-show-picture-issues/
I had to put the origin to upper left. Now it shows the picture correctly.
Thanks everyone for thinking with me though! -
