Fishing Pole and Sword (My First Pixel Art)

I recently started working on creating my own art for my game. I started off with swords but after they all looked alike i gave up on that idea and started working on individual items as oppose to item types. Hopefully this looks like a fishing pole to everyone else, like i said its my first real solid finished piece.

The fishing pole is a 32x32 icon, the size of the pole itself is abit smaller, i used photoshop for this but recently aquired graphics gale, idk which is better atm.

I decided to upload the sword I had just finished, this one actually cme out looking different than the other 4 I made so i decided to share this sword icon as well.

the sword is 32x32, i am thinking of making different color handles for most of my swords to show its elemental damage, but i dont know yet.
