Failed to Load Tileset Data?

  1. So, I had to restart my comp for a Windows update, and when I start up Ace again and try to open my game, I get an error saying "Failed to load tileset data." I don't have a single non-default tile, though I did mash some default tilesets into a new tileset. Does anyone know how to fix this? Is my project just screwed? I really hope not, because I poured a lot of work into it.
  2. Backups, Backups, Backups... =P

Anyway just replace the tile set data with one from a new project inside the data folder, you have to reset all your passiblity settings but that should be about it.
  3. Tileset Data is the Tilesets.rvdata2 file.  If you remember what you did (adding new tilesets), copy another one in from a new project and redo the changes.
  4. Well, I replaced the tileset data file, and I think I started a trend in my data file. It seems I have to replace everything in the data folder.... Just in case I'm being dumb, I'm going to wait before replacing anything else.
  5. that error usually means that something has damaged a file - and if there was a problem with the windows reboot, then several files may have been damaged.

Make a copy of the damaged project to protect whatever might still be there, and start replacing the files when they are detected as damaged by the program.

You will loose data when replacing the files - if a damaged file contains too much data, you might try to reconstruct it from the copy, but most probably you will have lost that part of your work. That's why backups are important, there are even a few backup scripts that create backups automatically upon starting a playtest. Those scripts won't help you now, but they could prevent a future problem after you got your project operational again.
  6. I had to replace probably half of my data folder, maybe the whole thing, and I was reduced to the first map. Great. T_T
  7. Sucks, but this is why back-ups are a thing you need to get into.
