Failed to create Project

  1. I can't save my project for some reason. It tells me "Failed to create project".

I really, REALLY don't want to lose what i've done. Because I only just recently finished recovering from losing the exact same project. I don't see my project under Manage Projects. I see one called (scintillation) and another called (). Trying to update (scintillation) seems to work, but the () one throws up this error.

I'm cautious as to what to do exactly, because I sure as heck don't want to lose my work again.
  2. How did you load the project?

From the sound of it, either your harddrive or your windows has been damaged and is now causing files to be corrupted.

The only way to solve this is to copy the project to a different location and work from there.

If you have the steam version with manage project, try to save it to the cloud as that is outside your computer, and after that check if it's your HDD that needs replacement (that would be a hardware defect and you'll need a new HDD) or if the windows had been damaged (that most probbly needs a complete reinstall, which is a lot of work including saving your data somewhere else and formatting your windows drive after saving the data outside of it).
  3. This is interesting. The save folder seems to have splintered.

[Project Name] folder has the following:

    [Project Name]

    System

    Game.exe

    Game.ini

There is another folder of the same name inside the folder. Inside here is the data folder and all the things it should normally contain. Sounds, graphics, pictures, so on so forth.

    Doing a disk scan now.

EDIT: Also, I loaded it in the normal fashion. I think the project is saving properly in the splintered folder, as the project name now reads, in the RPG Maker VX Ace window: (scintillation)

EDIT 2: It also appears that the disk scan did reveal an error. Thank you Iobit Advanced Systemcare.

EDIT 3: So, the splintered folder CAN be used as a proper save folder for the project, but i'm forced to reread the EULA agreement every time now, and I get prompted about overwriting something or other whenever I load the project.

EDIT 4: Moving the splintered folder out onto it's own seems to have fixed the problem. Odd. Oh well, should be smooth sailing now, I think. EXCEPT the fact that it now has parentheses around itself, and I can't change the name through Manage Projects. More "Failed to create project".
