Failed to create distrubution package on Windows

  1. So, I've been trying to deploy my game to Windows for three days now, but it's not working.
It won't even show the files in the pop-up, it just gives the "failed to create distrubution package" message immediately.
I've checked and dubbelchecked filenames by now. I've also tried to deploy a empty project with just the resources as they come with MV in it. Also won't deploy to Window (to Mac OS X did work).
So I guess somewhere in the beginning of the deployment proces, something is not working. I hope someone can help me with this!
  2. one of the more common causes for this is if either any of the files, or the foldernames of source or deployment folders contain letters that are not allowed under networking rules. a single space in a foldername for example and you'll end up with such errors.

another possibility is damaged files somewhere that could not be copied into deployment.
  3. Yeah, I already read that and by now I've triplechecks the filenames as well as the foldernames of source and deployment folders. Still not working.
It creates a map in het deployment folder, puts in a "credits" file, and after that, it's over. How would I check if any files are damaged?

Edit: I fixed it. That is: I deinstalled MV, couldn't get the standalone version to install again, used my Steam Key to install the Steam Version, opened the program, clicked "deployment" and it worked! So there must have been something in my version (maybe an incomplete update?) that wasn't working.
