Event not working/activating.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, and if I'm doing something wrong, I can't see it. I'm wracking my brain trying to figure out what's wrong with this, but I just can't see it, especially since I made an event completely identical to it (minus what was said in the "Text" bit) previously in my game and it worked just fine. Please help me to see what I'm doing wrong.

My character walks over the event tile... and nothing happens. It's becoming really frustrating as it's brought my game production to a halt.

Player touch is what you need here as a Trigger.

I tried event touch, and it's not working :( Neither does same level as characters/action button. Is it possible my game is just borked?

In fact, when it's same as character, my character just... walks right through it.

Has something else turned that switch on? Hit F9 and go through your switches to see if it's on or off.

If you copy pasted the events, and the switch is on, then the second event will have the SAME switch set to on, and will override the first page, running the second page.
Thus if the switch that sends you to page 2 to the first event is set to ON, it will also affect the second event too.
To avoid this, use different switches or Self Switches as Event Page conditions.

I found it, I didn't realize you meant in-game, and it's on. I feel like an even bigger idiot now after going back to check it out. I don't know where it's turned on, ugh. Thank you for letting me know about F9.

Yes. You share the same switch. If it's on, it affects both events. You are not an idiot.
