  1. So, everything with my intro cutscene works well... up until the end. I have it set so the main control switch is set to OFF and a control switch is set to A, and A is set to a blank event, but as soon as the cutscene ends, I am unable to control my character. It acts as though there's another auto-run process occuring, which isn't the case since the only auto-run is the main cutscene control. I've even tried adding a transfer event to get the character/party offscreen, but they wind up frozen in place at the new location on a different map.

Any tips on how to fix this, that would be great. I've tried just about everything, quadruple-checked my switches, my event commands, etc. but I've given up.
  2. Can we see a screenshot of the event?
  3. On Page 2 of your event, is the condition Self Switch A actually turned on, or did you just make another event page and not set that up?
  4. Yep, sorry. Here you go:

The second event page is just a blank event with "action button" enabled.

It's on, which is why I am puzzled by this.
  6. Make sure Page 2 isn't Autorun and that it is parallel process.
  7. Still no luck with the parallel process.
  8. Could you explain your Switches?
  9. It's hard to say for sure without seeing what you're doing in the other events, but give this a try:

Don't turn off switches 83 and 82—just overwrite them by turning on your self-switches that turn the event into a blank page.
  10. Beginning sceneCTRL (prior to this one) turns Intro1 switch on, which controls the guard in the first scene (appear/disappear), followed by turning Into2 switch ON, which controls the scene that I am having problems with, and GuardCTRL switch ON which controls the other guard in the problematic scene.
  11. Well, the switch is your problem then. Overwriting them should do the trick. Common mistake.

Blank page override didn't work. :/
  13. I have a feeling it is your other events. Could your screenshot them please?
  14. The other events are all set to action button, so they aren't in conflict, but here's the scene anyways:

EDIT: The topmost event is the sceneCTRL event, which is the only autorun event that's on that page.
  15. Does the hero (or any event) get stuck against a wall? The game can freeze if your move route forces an event somewhere he can't go.
  16. Are all your passabilities correct otherwise (top left tile of TileB is set to star, etc)?

Also, do you have any common events running?
  17. Your move routes don't have skip if cannot move checked, which is what I do during testing to make sure that doesn't freeze up my scene. Have you tried that just in case?
  18. that event needs switch 83 to be on to run...the moment you turn that switch off the event stops running and it won't turn switch 82 off nor self-switch-A on.

Leave those switches turned on in the first page and turn on Self-Switch_A, in page two set condition Self-Switch-A ON (no other condition) and turn off the two switches (82 and 83). Also turn on Self-Switch-B and create the empty page 3 with Self-Switch-B ON as condition....should (hopefully) sort the problem

Triple checked the only two moving events (guard and player) and there's no conflict.

Everything is set to default, plus the players actually move, so it's not a passibility problem.

One of the first things I thought of when I tried fixing this, and that did nothing either.

I re-wrote the scene so I'm going to have to redo my events. Thanks for all the help so far, everyone.
