Hi, one day I went to open RPG Maker VX Ace and I got the error message in the thread title ("RPGVXAce Editor has stopped working."). It keeps giving me this message and I have no idea why, as far as I know I haven't done anything abnormal that would cause the program to break. The error prevents me from even opening the program (when I click the icon it waits a few seconds and then the error appears). I'm not using a pirated version, I actually bought the software for like $80, so I'm kind of annoyed that it just suddenly completely stopped working. I have restarted the computer, uninstalled the program and then re-downloaded the files straight from the verification email and then reinstalled, and it still does not work.
Does anyone know what causes this error, or how to fix it?

Did you really redownload and reinstall from the new download? Sounds like somethings corrupt. While I doubt this would fix it at all, try defragging your harddrive/error checking your harddrive through windows and then reinstall. There's a chance it could also be a corrupt sector and, when reinstalling, you're still installing to that part of the harddrive (which is entirely out of your control)

Checking for hard disk errors is a good suggestion. If you have bad sectors that the program is being installed to it could crash things.
For how to check hard disk errors with Windows 7 check out MS help site here. You can search around their site for steps to do so with other versions of windows.
