Equipment isn't changing during event

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie to RPG Maker, so I can't pinpoint exactly why this isn't happening how I want it. I want a character's equipment to change during an event, but it won't. Here's what I have in the event:

What can I do to make this work?

Equipment can only be equipped if it's in the inventory first.

are you sure the player have the item in the inventory?
