Empty random encounters

  1. I only purchased RPG maker VX Ace two days ago and i love it, it's great and simple to use and have been having endless fun with it, BUT today i have randomly started having a problem, i have a dungeon map with Random encounters turned on and as i walk through the map i get the screen wipe as if a battle is about to start and all i get is an empty battle scene that says "You were victorious!" and there wasn't even a fight, i've taken out all of the events on the map and it's still doing it but it's only on THIS map that it's happening... any ideas as to why?
  2. That's because there's no enemies on the troop ID that you put in that map.
  3. The random encounter calls a troop, not enemies - and if that random encounter is automatically victorious, then either that troop is empty (like the poster above said) or all enemies in the troop have been set to "appear halfway" by right-click option.
  4. all i had as the "default" mobs was the bats*2, spiders*3 and the slimes*2, they were all the default settings from the available options to test out the area, same as i had done for every previous area except this one map doesn't seem to like it... i think the map itself may have issues as when i did a click/drag to select (for example) a 4 tile object, like the big ass tree, it would only place the top left portion despite having the selection square covering 4 tiles.
  5. wrong - unless you installed scripts, nothing (unless set in the properties) can be changed map-dependend, the data itself is always identical for the entire game.

By default, if a random encounter is an autowin, then the troop is empty in the database (ATTENTION: the name of the troop is NOT the content of the troop - you can name a troop bats*1000 and it can still be empty if there is no enemy inside it in the database)

And the mapping depends on whether you use shift or not on making the map, search the forum for "shift-click mapping" to learn about that.
  6. like i said... i did it exactly the same way with the rest of my maps using the exact same setup all baring the map layout... the rest of my maps work fine... the ONLY thing i did different with this particular map was use the "generate dungeon" option, which as far as i am aware merely just randomly generates a map and nothing else, the bats*2 etc... are ALL the default troops/enemies that came when i downloaded it and as i said bats*2 etc... worked perfectly fine on the other maps i'd made
  7. Perhaps a screen shot of the 'Map Properties' for that particular map would be helpful so that we can see the full set up that you have for it.
  8. They're all default as they came with the program...
  9. Todeswalzer, please avoid double posting, as it is against the forum rules. You can review our forum rules here. Thank you.

As I said before, the enemy settings have nothing to do with your problem - what is needed here are the screenshots from the map properties and the corresponding troop pages. And from those, we need the full data to check if something changed them, not smaller and partially hidden screens.
  10. My apologies for the double post.

As it turns out my program was just playing silly buggers for the day, after getting frustrated with it, turning off my computer and going out for a pint or two, i came back turned it on and it was working perfectly fine, seems i may have just had a glitch in the system.
