Elder Scrolls Style "Skills"

  1. I'm wanting to make a lock picking mechanic in my game....well, not just lock picking, i want to be able to have several states that need to be a certain level in order for the player to do things like that. Is there a script like this? 
  2. I understand that you're searching for a script, but I'd like to mention that I was able to create a lock picking mechanic through pure eventing using items, variables and conditional branches. The lock picking skill can grow depending on how you want it to. Only things missing are graphics and interactivity (like Thief and Wizardry).

    Would you happen to have a topic or a demo on it? Eventing it sounds better to me.
  4. Unfortunately, I'm not a blogger, so no. I just love to experiment.

    I'll do my best to get a demo or, at least some screenshots, up for you by the latest this Sunday since I'll be working till then, so that you can have a look. The current one I have is riddled with wonky events.
