  1.       Hey community, I'm looking for a few people to help me further develop my Earthbound Style Engine which I want to make available to the public in the future for non-commercial and commercial use. So far I've been able to replicate EarthBound's battle mechanics to a degree by using RGSS3 referrences during script calls so that I can give events a line of sight. I've also recently updated the engine so that preemtive and suprize attacks are turned on depending how the Player Character and Enemy Event meet eachother on the map ( If Player Character touches Enemy Event's backside, the Player scores a premtive strike. If Player Character is detected by an Enemy Event and they both face eachother and touch, the premptive strike and surpize attack are turned off. If the Enemy Event touches the Player Character's backside or sides, the Enemy Event gains a suprize attack.)

There are some bugs I am currently also trying to filter, bad ones such as 2 battles being initiated at once which leads to some game glitches or multiple victories for defeating 1 enemy. Sometimes after defeating an enemy, it doesn't disappear like it should and starts another battle, rpg maker seems to ignore event commands because of script calls and is just plain annoying to debug.

If and when I debug the project, the next feature I am going to attempt to incorporate involves how the initial battle starts between the Player Character and Enemy Event. If there are 2 Enemy Events that touch the Player Character then there will be 2 Battlers to fight instead of just 1 (1 Enemy Event touching the Player Character on the map would trigger a battle with just 1 Battler). I am going to try using variables and eventing to implement this feature.

If anyone is interested in helping further the development of this engine then let's start a team and get to work. I will give you a link to the project just leave a reply or pm me, thanks for your time.
  2. I am assuming your "Earthbound Style Engine" is actually being done in RPG Maker. If it's not, you'll need to recruit on another forum.

If you are asking people to work for you for free, or for possible royalties IF your game sells, please post in the Recruitment section, making sure you provide all the information requested and tag your post according to the guidelines pinned at the top of that forum.

If you are offering definite payment as work is completed, please post in the Classifieds - Requests forum asking for team members.
