It was a dark rainy night, kyle an ordinary highschool student received a strange unknown call that instructs him to find a mysterious key.

Luckily, he found his loyal companion Milo and was able to rescue him from the grasp of danger.

Together they push themselves into the unknown and solve mysteries in order to escape.

But as soon as they are about to leave, they heard a loud banging sound coming from one of the rooms...

    GAME DEVELOPMENT
This game was developed about almost 3-4 years ago. Yep, you've read that right, it was that long ago. I so busy with work but now have the time to at least continue the game if ever I still have that motivation to keep it going. This was the very first game I've made with an RPG MAKER software and the one I managed to at least show to some people, including you guys today. This game was originally published in Itch.io as a free game and will continue to be free to play.
KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS GAME IS JUST THE DEMO PART OF THE GAME AND DOES NOT REFLECT THE FULL GAME.
(I will add/remove certain aspects of the game during future development.)
I hope you guys will like it. Feedback and suggestions for the game are welcome and will help tremendously with the future development of the game as this game was only in its earliest stage. The full game will most likely have a few hours of gameplay based on my current game time for this demo.
With that being said without further ado, welcome to the nightmarish world of DWELLING NIGHTMARES.

P.S I would be happy to see you guys play my game and if possible do a let's play video of any kind (I really like to see how people will take on the puzzles.) If you have any questions about the game you can message me here in the forums and I will respond as soon as possible.

Again, thank you so much! :hhappy:
  2. requested for permission to download to play around, looks awesome.
seems like a nice horror game, not my type but intrigued by your mappings.

You should continue it though :) it looks amazing.

Thanks for checking the game out.:rhappy:

I really like to continue the game as I was about halfway with the story progress, though I'm still finding the right kind of push to keep me back on track with it.

If ever you found any bug (Though I'm sure I found all of it with the current demo build.) please do let me know so I can adress the issue as soon as possible, also if you have trouble with the game (puzzles, story progression etc.) do not hesitate to contact me and I will gladly help.

I'm thinking of releasing a demo video walkthrough for the sake of helping people who got stuck with the puzzles, hmm..maybe one of these days.

Again, thanks for checking the game out. Cheers!
  4. Count me interested as a person who is also making a horror game.

Let's gooo! Rpg maker horror game genre rocks :rock-left:

Despite its notorious reputation in the community, for me RM is a good platform for this kind of genre. (Although not the best because horror games are hard to pull off due to its technical limitations.)
  6. An intriguing demo that should really become a full-fledged game someday. I like the premise, being stuck at home alone during a fierce thunderstorm sets the atmosphere up nicely, then you find the weird tunnel inside your home and see where it leads in search of your missing dog. Once you come inside the abandoned school, the game gets notably worse though. For one, it takes about half an hour to get there with zero save prompts, yet there's a way to die and lose all of your progress almost immediately.

Basically, there's a phone in the room where you find your dog in a cage and if you interact, you have the option to call the police. If you do that, it's suddenly game over as you get attacked by some shadow monster. These "GOTCHA" moments are really infamous in RPG Maker Horror Games in particular, but they are alright if you don't lose much progress to them. So, if a save screen showed up when you enter the room with your dog in a cage, it would've been much better.

The CGs also really do make the opening stand out in a great way, it's a shame that they mostly disappear later on in the game. The opening pop quiz seemed to be mostly pointless though? Regardless, I do think you have something potentially great here worthy of finishing.

I know its been awhile but thank you so much for checking out the game. The points made are clear and well thought out and It is indeed quite hard and there are some insta death scenarios in the game. There are other CGs in the game, though It looks like you haven't reached them and triggered them. And about the pop quiz, it really do some impact with the overall game difficulty as this controls the difficulty of puzzles you will encounter throughout the game. It has a hidden game difficulty setting that adjusts according to your answers in the pop quiz. (The difficulty can change from easy-normal-hard.. (There are puzzles to be solved in the game.) I would like to continue working on the game to amend the changes including the addition of auto save though Im stll finding the right motivation to work on it as I felt this game I made is not good enough?

Anyway thanks for this. I appreciate it.
