Hi, the DS RPG Maker (in Japan) had a great dungeon making utility.
You could create passages, and it had many sample rooms you could connect together to make a very nice dungeon in short time.
The downside was you could only use fixed rooms, map editing was not supported. ;-)
For those curious, you can see some screenshots in the middle of this page:

That aside, does anyone know a similar tool for VX Ace?
It would be great, I think.

Should read "Dungeon Maker" in the topic title, of course.

Ace has a dungeon generator. Have you tried it out? -
Thanks, I saw the editor, but not the full editor.
I have the Japanese version of VX Ace (I'm considering the Steam version!), there's a dungeon maker, but all it seems to do is give you some walls you can carve out.
If you see the Enterbrain DS video here, at 1:12, they introduce the dungeon maker.
It was actually very handy, especially the room templates they had for the dungeons.
If something like that was available on steam, I would definitely purchase! -
Why do you have the Japanese version?
Also, there is not difference between that one and the 'Steam' version. The only difference is that it's in English and you must have Steam open for it to run. -
I see, thanks, good to know.
I have the Japanese version as I live in Japan, I didn't think to check Steam or the US retailer when I bought it. ;-) -
The Japanese version was released before the English version, and LONG before the Steam version. Depending on when you bought it, you might have ONLY been able to get it from Japan. Lucky you :) Most of the forum members wish they lived in Japan or knew someone who does, whenever a new maker is release!
