  1. I am very much a creator, crafter and the like. RPG Maker software has led me to one more fantastic outlet other than the traditional stuff. So far it has been an interesting learning curve with various tutorials as I vaguely remember tinkering with XP for a short time. Though, if I remember it had taller sprites...? Anywho. This here corner is Dragon claimed for all things artsy fartsy. I'm throwing both my music and writing in this first post mainly because: I don't have much in the way of music per se, and two I'll post just a few things of writing and links to places I have written things out.

To any and all down in here. I don't mind one bit of, and welcome, critique. Except for photography. I know it's terrible I just want to show you the product. (Unless the art is the photography, but I'll specify that.)

As it was that sacred afternoon.

    By: S.C. Groom

As it was that sacred afternoon.

That smell, shiver - aroma above around the house,

Sent an eye a-rolling, and wet smacking lip,

Secret plumbed apple - spice of life

Divested from the tin and savored wholly -

Shared by all and the hint of the baker's shy smile.

    Spoiler
I am writing a Dungeons and Dragons campaign arc to be outfitted with the new 5e, or D&D NEXT rules set. First one: The Ransom of Crescent Harbor, the rest have working titles and in no particular order at the moment. Omen of Frogs, First Invasion, Gate from the Broken World, Secrets of the Tommyknockers' Ruin I wan to say somewhere in there another one is waiting to happen but I just haven't gotten that far yet. I have mapped out two, have ideas spinning fro the other three, and I'm polishing that first one right now. I will need play testers soon.

Music: I have taken piano lessons since I was four (I had been banging on the ivory keys for a year at least before that, the poor baby grand!) I sadly had to stop halfway through high school - I had to concentrate on many other things. But my lessons had developed way past from student and teacher, and instead we had left it as partners, colleges of collaboration for the time I had spent composing so much, and bending theory as much as I could to the chagrin of my friend.

I first must figure out how to get Cakewalk to work. I can also just post my sheet music instead once I've fixed it up clean. Of course it will be written as piano but I can possibly include guitar chords as per request once I get the ball rolling.
  2. Random crafts and pictures will go here shortly. I promise! I also promise anyone viewing all the spoilers that they may even get a little bit hungry!

    Crochet Projects:

    Spoiler
I made this ages ago: Its a jellyfish on a key-chain. It's actually really big so I would say it would fit better on someone's backpack than as an actual key-ring.

    Spoiler
This little thing is a baby fisherman's hat I had made much more recently since my cousin was pregnant. Though how was I supposed to know the little tyke had a huge head?! It never fit him sadly.

  3. I may have some projects and random works of art that I'll post around. I work mostly pencil and paper but I also have some random art programs that I also tinker with: GIMP and Paint.net and etc. Drawing is a true hobby. I'm quite fine knowing I will never be as crazy good as the folks I follow on many art sites.

  4. Last but not least I'm placing my RPG Maker stuff here. Why? Because you save the best for last don'tcha? If I settle on a project after performing the tutorials, I'll reorganize this to reflect it.

    Maps:

    Spoiler
My first little map outside a tutorial! It is based from a scene in a Dungeons and Dragons campaign I'm witting: The Ransom of Crescent Harbor. It is using all original rtp no edits yet!firstlittlemap.png

    Storyline:

    Ransom of Crescent Harbour -

    Spoiler
The mayor had been found dead, and the suspect in custody. His trial was short and sweet and found ultimately guilty. During the long road to the gallows the prisoner escapes! It is up to the PC to find and track him down! In the meanwhile, the plot thickens with a child from the streets going missing, and then another, the widow's own child - and then a third, an infant, becoming a great ransom for Crescent Harbour. Follow the clues, your head and/or your heart to find them as well, bringing them home safely and delivering justice.  - Aiming for only a short hour or two of playtime as my first little project.

    "TrinityProject" -

    Spoiler
Every kingdom goes through the throes of battle, civil wars and unrest. Empires try encroaching borders and overthrow perceived tyrants or even annex peaceful realms. But this time, amid relative peace deep within the kingdom a threat rises, stirred by an unseen hand. Attacks from the borders become more vicious, more frequent and the sanctity of temples and places of healing are being broken and raided. However, this affects more than just their city, and capital. It affects also their neighbours and surrounding countries. The world seems to be groaning under the march of the truth.Elsewhere, in the deep wilds and frontier settlements, it has always been the survival of the fittest. But how does one resist and live through a magical plague? How can the primal tribes live on lands blighted and dreadfully scorched by it? Animals flee, scared. Even the most normally passive have become highly aggressive or even deliriously sickened. The protective tree of the sprites' glade was destroyed – awakening the anger of Prana. It is now a fight for survival, of earth against civilization, a precarious balance thrown off kilter. Peoples and even monstrous races need to unite against a clock that is ticking. The world seems to be groaning under a vast weight that seems to be growing as chaos and destruction ensue.

Yet, the root of all evil is power, and power not commonly corrupts especially when misused. There are fair and too few in number that are immune to the seductive lure of it. Prana, sensing the danger tried to reach out before it completely vanished but with the cultish branch of magic users gathering all artifacts they can or to destroy them is weakening it rapidly. They are releasing dangerous amounts of energy to build a new empire, though they lack the understanding of controlling such a monstrosity, thus weakening the world further. In a bid to create new order, one that would encompass the entire world with the archmages themselves places in ultimate control, turn to also raiding the natural ley sources as well. However as they get ever closer and closer their humanity withers away, feeding something else entirely darker and more sinister than themselves. - This is a grand RPG adventure full of intrigue and weaving stories centered on three pairs of characters all having potential heroism. Within the game you can choose which three you would like to play with and playing their part and with them saving the world, giving slightly alternate endings, and special scenes with each one for a great replay value. (I hope!)

    Pixel Acadamy Challenges:

    Spoiler
First challenge! Regular sized and zoomed in it is Lucca! I will keep practicing and I will put more of the sprites they had added.pal1ha.pngpal1ha2.png
  5. So I decided to start doing some of the Pixel Academy's Challenges but it looks like it has stopped and I am unable to submit the stuff I'll be doing. So Uh. I guess I'll submit it here! I welcome any critiques. <3
  6. Bahahahah. Biggest ship evar. I think I'll will need to adjust map size and such. But this can be done at a later date. So far it seems somewhat legit - a ship's lower decks.

Starting Room: Where PC begins... in bed like so many other RPGs. Rofl.

  7. If you want pirate ships, Sharm is creating a Corsair pack which she said will include all kinds of great Pirate stuff. :-D  I think many of us are waiting for it with baited breath.

Also, pretty good basic ship maps.  Never got the knack of using the wood trellis, myself.  I'm decent at making maps, but need to get better at filling them in.  Your first map is great --- nice use of the little RTP "accessories" I never knew what they did.

You can always post screenshots in the Screenshots and Maps thread if you want detailed feedback from the community.
