Does it make sense?

  1. I don't know where to ask for this, so I go to Off Topic Land :)

I'm creating my first game and I intend to make it the first of a long series of games. Of course, every series needs a name. Something to tie everything together.

However, my problem is that English is not as fluent as I'd love to.

The name I want to give to the series is "Megalomaniac Instinct". Does it make sense? What comes to your mind when you read it?

( I'm not going to tell what the games will be about - I want to see if the name gives something away or not )

    Thank you :)

^this here^ means Off Topic is not the place :)

    Moving to General Discussion

What comes to my mind when I read that? The early days of any James Bond villain.
  3. Same verbal structure as the phrase "killer instinct", so I would assume it's about someone whose instincts are those of a megalomaniac, that is, someone with delusions of omnipotence, power and/or wealth.

I know you didn't ask this, but I thought I'd say that it's a slightly clumsy phrase to speak out loud, and I'm not sure that it quite works as a stand-alone.  Even if it were simply "The megalomaniac instinct", it might be better.
  4. Some dinosaur thing instinct or something like jurassic thing.
  5. Maybe a game about a despotic tyrant, very egocentric too...
  6. An insane villain who wants to take over and rule the world. They can't help it, because it's a part of who they are, or so they think. Maybe it's an obsession that they realize and succumb to even as they fight it?

Maybe everyone has a little bit of that desire for power that allows us to understand why someone might crave so much of it.
  7. You're basically saying, "He is naturally obsessed with his power."

If that's what you're going for, then I guess it works.

    I have some suggestions though:

Don't make your first game a series, especially when the time comes that you decide to change a lot of things.

You are also adding unnecessary pressure to yourself.

Staying away from a series will allow you to explore many designs.

    Good luck!
